Cobweb and hydrogen peroxide..... The fight
    #19337799 - 12/28/13 05:00 PM (10 years, 1 month ago)

Hey guys I have 4 cakes that no doubt have cobweb on them some of it is in the top layer in the dry verm and others just have it scattered around. I was reading up of some forms here but just wanted to clear my thought process and procedure. So to my understanding you can actually eradicate cobweb by misting hydrogen peroxide on the cakes, even though it does some damage to the myc, it should recover. I just want to know who has done this and if it can really be done so the mushies can be safely eaten. So I was thinking maybe to mist them and then taking a paper towel soaked in the hydo peroxide and just rubbing them down all over just to be safe.

Let me know what you guys think I'll get some pics in, in a day or two

Thanks

One love

It damages the fruit bodies not the mycellium itself.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Both are highly organized/complex

not that hard to explain, the mycelium runs tight and parrelel with itself for the stipe to give it strength and get a good spore trajectory, the myclium is tightly interwoven for the cap giving it a diffrent color, all the same mycelium as the sub...diffrent purpose
