When sitting and one gets that tingling sensation between their eyes?
Besides a mystical explanation for this feeling, why does this happen?

Tingling sensations are generally a sign of poor circulation. Low blood flow to an area can cause a tingling feeling. Like when your foot 'falls asleep'. The lack of movement causes circulation problems starving your foot of blood supply and it loses feeling. Upon you moving again and getting the blood going it brings fresh oxygen causing nerves to fire off again giving the tingling feeling. If you regurarly get a pins and needles like tingle go see your doctor, it may be the sympton of something larger.
If it's localised to just your eyes you mau have a visual impairment or something. Do you wear glasses? When was the last time you were tested?

Excellent advice.
Some will claim that various magical body glands / centers / whatever are activated during periods of deep introspection and / or mystical experience. Personally, I believe that's hocus-pocus bullshit nonsense of the highest degree.
"Body tingling" may be a sign of a physical problem, and should be referred to a medical doctor.

Sitting for long periods..Seems plausible.
Haven't had my eyes tested in years. But I don't think this is a serious issue...For the most part I feel great physically/mentally

My explanation is that you are becoming aware of a more subtle aspect of the brain, the third eye. I have the same thing happen and I don't have a medical problem as it is controllable. In fact I very rarely get sick and never have a sustained headache. I believe it to be a gateway to the normally autonomic system / CNS for conscious awareness.
Physiologically, you would have to explain conscious awareness first, which I don't think has ever been done. I doubt there is something wrong with you, but something right with you, and it feels so concentrated probably because of pineal calcification.
If you want to bring it into effect, try lightly touching the correlating spot on your forehead.

Here is another post from a few years ago you might like to read:
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/14057463#14057463
One time I was walking around a poker room, waiting for the moment I felt the tingling, then I sat down and got dealt in, pocket aces. Coincidence probably, but definitely psyche my mind a bit.
I believe it is what people are calling ASMR now, and while research is being done, there is still very little about it.
