If you could have one last request just before the lights go out on you forever what would that be?
For me it's to know what happened to almost everyone I crossed paths with. From my first girl at five to everyone after. I think about it all the time.

hmmm... I can't predict my receptivity, and though I would want what aldous huxley seemed to ask for (hit me up with lsd, baby) I am not sure I would actually be in the mood for anything more than green jello

Stalling for time? I imagine that would take a while.

No not stalling but a genuine curiosity how all their fates played out. Some of them were my whole world at one time and now I don't even know if they live or where they live or if they are happy or what. Maybe it's something only an old man who's traveled far feels.

Yeah, I had a very similar idea, wondering how my action effected the world and if it is better or worse from my presence in it, overall. I think My biggest goal in life is to have made it no worse, and hopefully better. I also wonder about that.
I don't want to get into a depressing subject so I'll probably leave it at that rather than over-analyse it too much.

That's an interesting thought too. I wonder how my posts have influenced others here? Sometimes I get to find out. I know a lot have me on ignore so not everyone is as thrilled about my style as I am. But I have some fans too and lets face it. They are the really cool people.

I think I'd do the exact same tbh. and out of curiosity see how they saw me and how I affected people's lives...But then I've 60 years( roughly I hope/expect :P) to change my mind. Maybe one last cuddle/kiss with the woman I love

Closure sounds nice but in a lot of ways I think I'd just prefer release in whatever form I could get it. Trying to get closure is no guarantee that I won't get worked up about it. I'd request to go peacefully if I wasn't already.

A moment of omniscience; to understand the mystery completely before I go. Though what you ask for seems like a modest slice of my own wish. This would seem to negate the idea that we are all bound subtlety in space and time.

going off of your and teknix's thoughts
Would be pretty badass to see your personal stats... carbon emissions, how many microbes I've killed/produced, beings who lived, died and suffered due to my ignorance, the internal working of everyone I've known and their intentions/thoughts at certain points, the secret life of viruses/contagions and their passage, germs and the epic battle going on constantly within the immune system... the cause and effect of the release of bodily fluids, skin cells, gasses... did my cannabis vapor help repair/protect the ozone(always wondered if that could be true)? heheh I want to see all my stats and what happened/caused and effected by interactions and why, what, how and their relation to me.

what is that public manipulation?
"I think it would be the same even if it meant certain oblivion, I would honestly give my life if I knew it could happen. I'm sure many others would do the same."
I'm with you here, not sure if I would have always supported something as selfless as this but currently id hop right into a volcano to create world peace... though it may not be entirely selfless for me... sounds like an easy way out, and in this context id take it in a heart beat :p
What if it was a death more along the lines of supposed jesus in exchange for world peace(id have to barter for a thriving biosphere too:P) and permanent termination? Tough one there.... hard to say hypothetically. I think I would need some time to meditate on that one

Everything is manipulation..
-------------------- And thus begins the reverse-fusing of our one-dimentional understanding, and adds ever-expanding perspectives, in depth and number; splitting our perception, and in so doing, seemingly irrationally, creates yet more one-ness, with all that ever was, is and will ever be, streching across the infinite, inunderstood concept of everything, percievable and not.

For me it's to know what happened to almost everyone I crossed paths with. From my first girl at five to everyone after. I think about it all the time.
...to NOT let the lights go out on me forever?
Really, I'm surprised no-one before me said this.

This, is probably what I would want for a last request too... And to at the very least, have peace and comfort in my heart if there was nothing for myself after life as a human.
There are many people in my life who I already I am curious about where they went and how their lives ended up. Especially the girls, as they have a way of staying out of your lives after shit is done, no matter the circumstances...
I've never fallen out of love with a girl I've loved, as that love was mine anyways. I guess I just hope for the best, but at the least, I would love to hug everyone I cared about and convey to them how grateful I am for their influence and sharing of life they had with me... It means more than we can realize without it being directly threatened.

I'll take the Mega List of Your Life please. A list of everything you've ever done, everyone you've ever met, random activities and facts and accumulated times. Such as time spent pooping, being paid for pooping, time spent laughing, blinking, etc. Whatever you want to know about your time spent on the planet it is accumulated in the great list that is presented for you at infinite browsing-time on your way out.
That or to successfully be made into a cyborg and installed into a spaceship that can fly around the universe until running out of fuel.

But think of the sights you could see!
Yeah, otherwise yours would be really nice assuming you've actually had a positive influence and it doesn't get all Christmas Future on your ass.

I don't care if good or bad that much. I just want to know. I assume much of it was not as good as I tell myself.

No probably not, but you're not alone on that boat. Personally I'm not so sure I'd quite like the taste of omniscience, it's a gamble on the human heart and I'm not sure I want to be let down that hard. You'd see it all, and maybe in the end you'd rather not of.

thinking more on that.... I think I would have to meditate to the point of pain no longer effecting me personally/emotionally. If I were to find out that rebirth and karma are real, then id change all of that and just let it play out as it will... the end result would be the same I guess... maybe no golden age but people will find their own freedom at their own time. If the grand scheme is deliberate and with purpose then may as well let it do what its doin. I'll keep my selfish requests then :p

true one pliable squishy manipulating universe. Self-manipulation galore. Probably public manipulation galore... who's to judge though.
