    #19332827 - 12/27/13 12:33 PM (10 years, 1 month ago)

Hi all,

I have stumbled across some rather beautiful cacti. I am rather new to cactus identification and would love some advice from those more experienced than I...

Possibly a Peruvian torch?#1

Another beautiful cactus.#2

#1 - Polaskia chichipe
#2 - Pilosocereus azureus
#3 - Marginatocereus marginatus
#4 - Probably a Stenocereus species.

Not any active ones..

Similar columnar plants are sold around nurseries just named as "cereus" ..I think there is regular cereus peruvianus, piolocereus azureus, 3rd one I don't remember but I have seen lots and 4th plant in picture are also some similar species to plant at picture number one.

I'm not sure, just guessing.. But there is no trichocereus like peruvian torch.. One could be "peruvian apple" cactus.

Peruvian Torch ribs is different, trichocereus is way more "fat" and ribs are more round..

Anyway, very healthy and nice plants for ornamental purposes:thumbup: and maybe fruit from one can be used for food also... IF one of these are cactus I have read it have edible fruits but they're not psychoactive of anykind.:yesnod:

edit: I was wrong except p. azureus.
