New pressure cooker!

So I got the Philippe Richard 8Q PC. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Philippe-Richard-8-Quart-Pressure-Cooker-Aluminum/22790095
I know I was being a little cheap, but it's my first PC and if it can do the nooby things I need it to do I'm set with it.
I was just hoping you guys can tell me what you think of it. It can hold 4 half pints so I am pretty happy with the size, but the only small problem is the highest PSI is 12 I believe. Is this enough to steralize grains and agar? I don't mind if it takes twice the amount of time.

I just saw this and saw the low price so I instantly bought it lol. But I kept the receipt for a reason.
What's the difference between a cooker and canner? Just the name?

So I just read that they are the same, pretty much, other than shape. A canner can hold at least 4 quart jars, and will reach at least 15psi..
But other than that, I think my PC should work for now. And I'm still sticking to PF for a little longer before moving onto grain, so this should work fine for PF for now.. And if anything, 30 isn't all that much. I will upgrade in the future, but for now I will stick with this.
Thanks for your words though haha

Don't be afraid to buy used. I picked up a used All American Canner, which are some of the best cookers on the market, on ebay for around 65 dollars with shipping. Works like a charm and plenty of replacement parts on the net to make them like new again. In the future, don't be afraid to thrift it up.

if you know you're going to move on to grain why cause yourself the expense and hassle of buying another PC and getting rid of the small one? just get a use canner on ebay - you'll be able to make more cakes and you could even start to mess around with grain on a small scale while you continue to work with PF.
just an opinion from a person that took the long way around. i wish i had just started with grain...
