Zebra Pressure Cooker - no gauge - can use this? (pics)

I have discovered that none of the PC's here have gauges, here's some pics of the one I was going to buy. Manuel says one hole will emit steam at 80 Kilopactals, then the hole on the handle will emit at 160Kpac. So 15psi is about 103kpacs, how will this work? I'm not sure, but it seems that there is a hole there to fit a gauge, but they dont sell them separately. The price is about 90 bucks on sale, in bkk, so shipping one in would be pricey I suspect. Thanks for any advice here.

I'm sorry that no one has any answers for you. This may be a tough nut to crack.
Merry Christmas my friend (at least that's what we in the USA are celebrating today).

Hey there! Get the 23qt Presto PC that comes with a gauge from Amazon. It comes to about 70 or some odd dollars. Even less, and better!

I used presto brand for a while - they hold up well if taken care of, and the price is pretty good. I second chowster. Totally worth it to get a PC with a gauge.

How do you know if it reaches 15psi without a guage? That doesn't sound easy to use.

Read the manual, it should say. I'm not familiar with kpacs but if that effects the psi add time to your process

Just for the record, there is no such thing as Kilopactals. It's Kilopascals. For short it is kPa.

iv got 2 PCs without gauges and I just let them build pressure until they continuously let out steam then turn heat down slightly and PC for normal amount of time. seems to work so far.

Ah I got it, there is just two settings on it, 11.6psi (80kPa), or 23.2 psi (160kPa).
Will 11.6 psi work for a longer time with WBS?
Thanks for those reply's folks, and Merry Xmas!

I did some research and found out my PCs only hit 11.6 psi. 90 mins has worked for grains so far but I will be adding 30 mins in the future. that's probably why my agar has such a high contam rate.
