Does drug prohibition take money from underground artists?

Drugs are illegal which makes drug dealing very profitable. Like with any product, the drug market encourages the consumer to consume more. People in music/art/party scenes are a main demographic of consumer. I go to lots of show and night after night, I see people pay a lot of money for drugs while trying to avoid paying for anything related to the show in any way possible so they have more money to spend on drugs, including trying to sneak in or bribe security with drugs (which still costs them money except the artists/performers see none of it). If drugs were cheaper, do you think more of this money would go back into the community in the form of art/music/ticket purchases? Do you think people would spend their extra money on more drugs? How do you think ending drug prohibition would affect the underground music/art world?

I dunno man, without overpriced drugs to sell out of their homes how would those musicians be able to lay around and play guitar all day every day?

Live off of their parents or their girlfriends like the rest of the honest musicians.
Well the idea is that if they are talented then they will get paid by their fans instead of getting stolen from and taken advantage of by them.

I think drugs are too expensive. 20 bucks for just a tablespoons worth of weed? What the fuck is that??? A gram should be like 5 bucks considering it only lasts me 20 minutes and then it STILL doesn't get me as high as I can get.
People spend their money on things THEY value most, like drugs. And people are cheap in all other aspects of their lives so they can spend more of their money on drugs.

I have no trouble getting high and supporting my creative friends.
I also think about this shit a lot. When I think about how to succeed, I'm not thinking about how I can win, I'm thinking about how my team can win.

See, I think this is fucked up. Artists shouldn't have to sell drugs to support their art. It takes a bunch of time to create and people enjoy it like they enjoy anything else.
