Lolwat. Buddhism is no more a crock of sit than any other system of beliefs. If you approach it as a definite path to "enlightenment" of course you're going to have a bad time. Don't trust anything that you yourself don't believe to be true. Or rather, don't believe things just because somebody has said them. But that's just my opinion, man.
Btw, op. Maybe you'd like the Baghavad Gita or the Upanishads if you're into eastern religion.

I've got other Hesse books on the waiting list but I like to give authors breaks as to not sour its content. If somebody could give me a few recommendations I'd really appreciate it
If you like Hesse check out Beneath The Wheel. That and Siddhartha are two really good ones by Hesse

It's not a Buddhist book. If you've read Siddhartha and you think so, you do not understand the book.
And with that said I'm not too interested in Eastern religion. Moreso into Eastern philosophy, but I don't want terms and methods shoved in my face

OZA said: Into The Wild was the book I read before Siddhartha actually. Awesome and inspiring read. I decided to start on Cat's Cradle by Vonnegut since it has been sitting next to me for a while.. I'll keep all of the recommendations in mind for after the book though (which won't be long, it's fucking winter break and my hometown is boring so all I do is read)
my personal favorite book ever....it's a shame how short it is though
