Just saw Wolf of Wall Street

Awesome movie. Really great movie to see on Christmas, to not spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, let's just say that this Jordon Belfort played by Leonardo Decaprio guy had a serious life style problem but all the money to do it, it both warmed my heart on Christmas to see a guy having so much fun, and made me feel a little better that I'm not that much of a loser.
One thing I would HATE is to have a TON of money and have made it whilst doing tons of illegal stuff and risk losing it all. If I had it all I'd like to keep it, otherwise never have had it. Hope that doesn't give too much away, but that seems to be the basic description of the basis of the movie anyway.
This type of movie where this guy is a stock broker and starts his own stock firm is what I see as the type of person Zappaisgod looks up to and wishes he could be. So it's cool to see somebody living the life that so many others wish they could live, and also see what dishonest people these people in this movie turn out to be so I can laugh at the same time about what losers these investors turn into that everyone else envies so much

Anyone else see this movie today? Great movie

I'll probably go see it tomorrow. I love me some Scorcese. You think Decaprio will finally get an Oscar for this one?

I know a guy who worked for him, but only saw his wife. Said that the wife was a bitch to him though.

I saw a review yesterday saying this movie is really good. Sounds like one to check out. I'm surprised Decaprio hasn't gotten an Oscar, he seems to be in some big movies thtat are critically acclaimed as well.

Plenty of examples of great actors that never get oscars. You gotta be in w the hollywood elite scumbags to get one it seems.

Leo DiCaprio strikes me as a guy who's not very smart. Apparently all of his girlfriends in the past have been models.

Me and Leo share the same birthday.
I actually just watched Don Jon.
When seeing the previews it looks down right dumb but i gotta tell ya it was a fantastic movie. Very real, honest, and funny. I recommend it.

Decaprio was bad ass in this movie. He for once instead of playing an innocent character thrown into some situation where he must prove he is a rough seed but very innocent, he actually plays a darker person. Although he does seem to maintain that part of himself that seems very detached from being able to be TRULY evil, he is a person in this film almost like a gangster boss. He is not a gangster boss, but instead he is much more a Wall Street guy but acting like a gangster boss, very irresponsible, constantly cheating with hookers, etc.
Let me know what you think when you see it instead of me spoiling the whole thing. But really, I could spell this movie out in long words and you still wouldn't get the impression it is what it's about until you actually saw it, it is dark like a Scorsese to say the least. You get the actual feeling as though you are famous when watching this, it shows you just what a persons life is like when they can literally do anything they want with money.

definitely depressing, but just really the fucking bomb. I LOVED the part where they start taking these 15 year old quaaludes (at least in the movie time) and they don't kick in so they eat the whole bottle and finally they kick in and man they are SOOOOO screwed up
I can't wait to hear what more people think about this movie I do however at least in some sense wish that the movie had a little more emphasis on how their faulty financial decisions cost others a lot of money. I hear that the movie Boiler Room was based on the events of this guys life as well, and although don't get me wrong I think this movie is WAAAYYYYY better then boiler room, boiler room DID have that part at the end where they sold that guy pharaoh tech stock or whatever and the main character tries to reimburse his life savings.
Wolf of Wall Street in a review sense does a really good character analysis of what Scorsese THINKS is the personality of the real Jordon Belfort, and how his life turned out. Which was awesome, but there is a lack of emphasis on how the lives of all the people they screwed over financially were effected because of all their partying and negligence

classic movie though man I can't stop laughing at how hilarious this movie is and how bad ass it was to watch it. Really old school Scorsese style film, scenes jump from one event to another event very quickly, much harder to keep up with change of story first time seeing it, in that sense much closer to the directing style of Good fellas then let's say Gangs of New York(even though technically this movie has nothing to do with the mafia)

QFT. DiCaprio has been one of the best actors in the world for 20+ years. Almost every single role I've seen him in, he's been great. What's wrong with dating super models?
Anyways, I can't wait to go see the movie. I've only heard and read great things about it so far.
