First time growing cyans, should I do Peat Moss or Cactus Mix with verm? Also I grew my cyans on rye seeds, when they are colonized I will mix it with manure, How much manure do I add?! And how deep should the new substrate be when I place it in fruiting? Do I add casing right away as well, or wait a certain amount of days?

Cactus mix is basically peat moss with sand and artificial nutrients. Some brands have tiny clay balls or pumice or some similar material. Peat moss is a horrible material IME, it repels water, while coco coir absorbs it readily. Casing layer is added after the substrate has colonized completely.

I use peat/verm 1:2 spawn to poo 2inch depth 1/4 inch casing Fruit as soon as its applied Never used cactus mix so I don't know I also use hydrated lime or cc in my casing mix Stop misting when pins form an I use a syring to water around the fruits after about an inch Wet feet dry head Take prints in your fc Spread the love Merry xmas

I will admit when I used coir n verm casings it worked great but I've never had a repelling problem with 50/50

I tried it again several days ago in the form of a 'seed starter mix' to plant some pepper seeds, the f*#$ing water stayed on the top of the soil for half an hour, before I got too annoyed and threw it away. It has to be hydrated separately, with warm water, and a lot of squeezing and mixing.

Yes but you can easily do 1:1 or even up to 1:4 Yes misting pins can cause them to abort so I wait till there at least an inch if I water at all Fc is fruiting chamber, tiny caps are hard to print but they won't dry up if you do it where they fruit Wet feet dry head is just a way of saying they don't like to be misted directly like cubes so we water the sub instead

Beautiful! how much longer should I expect the process to take when I do 1:2 compared to 1:1?

Mix evenly and its not much at all, I find pans to be fairly quick colonizers

My first time with Pans too - I spawned hpoo cakes to trays and cased with pasteurized cactus mix - myc is poking though about 30 % so popped them into a SGFC @ ~78F and 90-100% humidity. Hoping to see some pins form in the next couple of days.
Grow #1 - Experimental trays (see pics) (Pan Cyans, Peurto Rican, Golden Teacher)
Here are some pics of 4 tray in my SGFC. Bottom right tray - Golden Teacher grown in horse-poo and cased with seedling compost Bottom left tray - Pan Cyans grown in horse-poo and cased with cacti compost Top right tray - Pan Cyans grown in horse-poo and brown rice flour and cased with cacti compost Top left tray - Peurto Ricans grown in horse-poo and cased with cacti compost Experimenting with pasteurized seed raising and cacti compost as a casing layer for the first time on all trays - apparently already PH adjusted etc. Also experimenting with different spawn depths and ingredients. Main goal is to get some Pan Cyan and Peurto Rican prints out of it (not to mentions some killer shrooms).
The Pan Cyan and Peurto Ricans were spores over 7 years old that have been months reanimating/germinating in liquid culture medium. All spawn was created using wild bird seed inoculated with the various liquid cultures.
Grow #2 - Mono Tub (see pics) - Bulk Golden teacher Hpoo/verm/choir/gypsum substrate spawned with 2 liters of wild bird seed colonized with GT liquid culture.
Check out the monotub pics - looks like an alien landscape - zoom in for awesome visuals :-)

try putting it right into fruitng once you apply a thin casing layer next time, pans are quick to gobble up a casing layer, looks good though

Which pan spawn/sub combo produced, preformed best?
