I'm not dissing your link, i'm pointing out that it is advanced stuff. Better first try to graft one seedling on top before trying to make a christmas tree like that.

It is possible though, you just need to work fast :smile:

Methinks I might give Opuntia Compressa grafting a go, since I already have one of them and it seems to be suggested as a grafting stock in many places... if I do I'll take some pics to share with you.

"Xmas Tree" grafting or grafting to the sides of a shoot are not as difficult as people make it out to seem. The art is ALL, and I mean ALL in the way you cut your scion and the receiving end of the root stock. Also for securing these grafts I reccomend using wax.

I may add a whole big section to the faq about grafting plants and cacti once i get some time.

When you graft to a pereskiopsis, can you plant the top part that you remove to start a new plant?

Damn that crap is nuts. From what I read about san pedro, the winter crop is stronger because it is starved of water, thus creating more mescaline. So I guess you could grow those suckers till they got huge, the root them in soil, let them run for a winter of no watering or two, and boom. I think you would have some ill peyots.
