Greetings to all. Yesterday had a chance to partake in the sacred mushroom medicine. A Christmas ceremony 2.3g of Ban Hua Thai cubensis. Lemon tek. Left in the a mint tea for 20 minutes. (p.s. I don't need 5g to catapult into hyperspace. It's not about the dose. It's how still and focused I can remain with whatever dose -- that immensely amps whatever dose I take.) Created a ceremony space. Used copal and myrrh to cleanse the area. Came in clean. Set strong intentions to learn, and drank the medicine in silence. Kept meditating and shut off all the lights.
I got some questions and comments to share. I had read countless posts that says "a cube is a cube", or "all cubes are the same". I really beg to differ on this one. Last night was my first time trying Ban Hua Thai. Right at the 20 minute mark a stream of color and images begin to unfold in the darkness. I mean like a whole flood of patterns, chaos-theory patterns, geometric patterns, the whole thing felt like a visual circus. It had a very "superficial feel" to it. It was like a light show. I had read Ban Hua thais are visual ... and I agree 100%. If you want a visual show, get the Ban Hua. I can see how someone can just truly enjoy the visuals. I felt I was in a 3D moving and geometric matrix. With luminous colors. But the whole thing felt like a visual mental feast. It's not my cup of tea. I have worked plenty with Ecuadorians and Amazonians, and never got this flood of cartoony circus images, plus the whole thing felt much more denser in meaning.
Another thing I had experienced with the Ban Hua thai, that I had not experienced with any other cube was around the 2 hour mark, spontaneous giggles! I mean strong bursting giggles. It was the medicine powerfully laughing through me. It was both wonderful and fascinating. At the same time as I was giggle loudly my ass off, I could simultaneously feel that behind the giggle was something not laugh and very deep. I had read plenty of reports of people giggling but it never occurred to me til last night. Having much training in therapy and body work, I could easily see the giggles as a way the medicines "rolfs" and opens and stretches the meridians, organs, and tensions in the diaphragm and muscular patterns. Again very different experiences to the Ecuandorians and Amazonians.
Somehow I could easily see that the initial display of the mushroom was like greeting me and displaying "it's personality". The visual circus, the cartoony elements, and then the giggles. I wonder if you guys would agree the at the initial stages of each mushroom journey the medicine reveals it's particular "personality" or "character"??
With Ecuadorians the initial expression is full-on powerful cosmic presence.
So a cube is not a cube, as I see it so far. I'm may be mistaken and very open to other thoughts. Each has their own signature. If your looking for a visual feast, that enjoy a more mental/visual journey with the giggles, I'd recommend the Ban Hua Thai strain.
Now mind you, the whole trip wasn't a waste. At the time around 1 hour into the journey was very disappointed to feel this mental visual display and not the cosmic depth. But that only shows my immaturity and lack of real understanding of how the medicine works. I got in several ways telepathically from the medicine: what i need to do is: eat the medicine, sit quietly, silently, follow and let the medicine do me! In other words, Thy Will Be Done. Not "my" will be done on the medicine. All this tekifying of the medicine I was trying to do to get a particular kind of trip - the medicine clearly showed me that is not how it's gonna happen. This is not what this sacred medicine is for or about. This is my understanding so far.
Furthermore, I was shown in this and other mushroom journeys, the sacred mushroom is the actual fruit of the tree of knowledge. And the serpent ... is the key.
I am curious if others have felt a difference between say Thai strains and Mexican/South American cubensis?
