Have you ever turned down a potentially good job?

Ever turn down a job (that could have decent - money wise, co-workers, etc.) for any reason? ...................
Today I turned down what could've been a good job cause I can't deal with the morning hours - I tried it two days in a row and it's been hell so far and I didn't even end up going in so I sent a text saying I can't do the hours. The job could potentially pay well and be in an area I can do good in but I'm working on other things now too. It can take me a while to get to sleep at night so I can't do a job that requires being up at 730 am! I think I realize now I value sleep more than money. If I needed the money badly I'd probably take it but I have other things I'm working on which I could spend more time on as well without a full time job.

Nah, i'm too young, inexperienced and poor to turn down any job at all.

my thing is, i technically retired at 40. so im trying to get into it. therefore, im tryin to avoid actual work.
i still do the club thing though, mostly to stave off boredom. i can punch and kick people, get totally wasted, and make more than a min wage worker does in a month....... in one night.
plus free drinks .
so its hard to resist. and its only 8 nights a month.
but actual work? cant see it.
the physics lab i worked at all thru the 90's pesters me weekly to come back.

I turn down interviews pretty frequently from jobs with higher salaries than what I make now. I stand to make a lot more if my current company does well, however.

I turned down a few dead-ends in my time, but I have mostly just worked for myself these past 29 years. I tried working for companies, but with a high school education there were many jobs that I simply couldn't apply for because the company required a college degree. That degree made a difference in my calculations and I realized I would never reach my full potential unless I worked for myself. Best decision I ever made. I like my lifestyle, my job and my home. I could have never afforded it working for someone else.

My main goal with work is with my own companies/websites. That's partly why I didn't jump on this job opportunity. I also have another part time job now too to help invest.
I prefer to be on my own schedule as much as possible. I have trouble sleeping sometimes so the more schedule freedom the better. Also with online business it can take awhile to be profitable but I think it is possible it can take some time to rank on google for some niches.

it's not a good job if it doesn't suit your need.
I quit a job that people consider good. high paying nice advantage and all. to me it was a shitty job so I don't regret it at all.

I've turned down a few promotions because I'm not looking for advancement so much. I much prefer simplicity.

Hmm, turning down a job for sleep. Sounds like you're scrapin' by on min-wage jobs. I don't blame you for turning it down since the income increase is probably a few hundred a year total, but remember, beggars can't be choosers, so in a few months if you make a post bitching about being poor, we're all gonna laugh at you.

geeze , when i was in college, i fell over baked at 4 Am. woke up at 7:45 AM, 15 minit cross city rollerblade race to NYU, while smoking a doob , grab someones notes and rehash 8:00-8:05, take the test , and then look for someplace to drink green apple martinis, more doobs on the parking deck/ brunch with the fashion girls at 11: AM.
and yes, you can get martinis at 9:am.
if ya do it right, by 9:30 AM, youve completely forgot what the test was about.
3.4 avg. and it prepared me for the excellent work ethic i have today.

I don't think it qualifies as a good job exactly, but I no-called no-showed for my first day of training at a Comcast call center. This was during the time period they were sandvining torrents and categorically denying it. I refused to work for a company that flat out lied to their customers.
