Blowers for very large flow hoods?
    #19323449 - 12/24/13 09:46 PM (10 years, 1 month ago)

I'm planning for the future and decided to at least research how a flow hood is constructed.
I'd like to use a 48x24 filter with 1" WG, but I can't find any inline centrifugal or squirrel cage blowers that can produce 800 CFM at 1 or 1.2" wg. Has anyone made a flow hood this large, and if so, what did you use for a blower?

My flow hood build.

My filter is 2' x 4' x 6"

This blower is what I went with, on the second lowest speed.
That one is new, but I found mine used, in great condition, for $175,
well worth it.

That would work perfectly, thanks!
Just curious, but is it pretty loud?

Not really, I mean it makes noise, but you can talk at a normal level right in front of it.
I'd say it's equal to or a little quieter than a vacuum cleaner.
