Sacred Numbers

Check out this page.

I'm especially interested in the number PHI (pronounced FEE), 1.618, whic is derived from the Fibonacci sequence. Apparently this is an important number in nature.

Examples of PHI are:

Divide the number of female honeybees in a hive to male bees in any hive in the world, you always get the same number. PHI. 1.618.

Also if you look at a nautilus shell and check the ratio of each spiral diameter to the next spiral it's 1.618. PHI.

Sunflower seeds growing in opposing spirals. Each rotations diameter to the next is PHI.

It also works with Humans too. Measure the distance from the tip of your head to the floor, then divide that by the distance from your belly button to the floor. You get 1.618. PHI.

Shoulder to fingertips divided by elbow to fingertips. PHI.
Hip to the floor divided by your knee to the floor. PHI.
Finger joints, toes, spinal divisions. PHI, PHI, PHI.

I'm not a mathematician by any means, but I am fascinated with the ratios and numerical systems underlying our world. This thread is for anyone who has any links or information about such numbers, sequences, and ratios. Peace!

The Fibonacci sequence was first "created" to match the mating patterns of rabbits.

Phi is the ratio of any two consecutive numbers in the Fibonacci sequence, the larger divided by the smaller. The further down the sequence you go, the closer you get to the true value of Phi.

Phi is also the ratio of Kilometers to Miles (1.618km ~ 1 mile).

Once, men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free.
But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.

Go out and get Alester Crowley's "777 and other Qabbalistic writings"

Gematria never ceases to blow my mind.

Also, "The Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life" by Drunvalo Melchizedek, all though you have to have you're crap detector tuned way up to get through that one, sacred geometry is the shit, but I still dont believe all that crap about angels and aliens. I would like to believe, but its pretty out there. Geometrical information in these books is right on, though.
