My parents got divorced this year, so its the first Christmas since that. Does that count?

Could be worse than a death.

Yeah it sucks. Its always a depressing time of the year for me. Almost all of my family has passed away, except my great grandmother.

Thanks for the thought, but TBH it doesn't bother me at all. I was pretty beside myself when I caught my mom having an affair (didn't catch her in the act), which is what lead to the divorce, but aside from that feeling of betrayal, its not a big deal for me. My dad's having a hard time with it though, and my 7 yr old brother is probably affected, though he doesn't show it.

A relative of mine died this year, it was strange and sad at Thanksgiving, maybe tomorrow won't be quite as bad.

No worries. Just try to carry on like they would have wanted. It's the easiest way to deal with it.

On the 18th my step grandma passed,it was her time and we are all very sad, there has been 4 deaths this year on their side of the family this year. It seems to be on the back burner for now though and we are thinking happy thoughts. My sister's pregnant and we are definitely joining together and having a good Christmas inspite of all the loss this year.

I've never had anybody close to me pass away. It's quite strange now that I think about it...
I have all 4 grandparents still, and every member of my "immediate" extended family (meaning my cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents) is still alive.
I don't know the grief of losing a loved one, but I've felt it vicariously through friends with harsh losses. My heart goes out to all of you celebrating with the loss of someone dear in mind.
