Hey so I know MDMA has been used in therapy effectively, I was wondering what ya'lls opinion on it regarding motivating/moving experiences is?

Psychedelics have been wonderful for facilitating thought-provoking/life-changing experiences for me, but MDMA seems to be much more typically considered a "party drug" instead of a tool for personal growth

Do you find rolling to have the same sorts of benefits that tripping can provide someone with, or is it generally only of a recreational sort of thing?

MDMA definitely has therapeutic value, but IMO it is different than the values you can gain from psychedelics. MDMA is more of an "opening up" kind of drug. It can make you comfortable saying things that you normally wouldn't want to talk about. The massive serotonin release feels pretty damn therapeutic too.

Be safe and have fun. I think you'll enjoy yourself. I know you love your LSD, so hopefully you'll like MDMA enough to try a candyflip.

MDMA is not really a true psychedelic. It only really gives a sense of empathy which can be good for couple's therapy..that's about it though. The only visuals are those of mild ghost tracers. VERY mild. Psychedelic means "mind manifesting" and ecstasy, er, mdma, whatever you wanna call it these days, molly, doesn't get DEEP DEEP into the mind like a true psychedelic.

If you want a life changing experience, you need to do a true psychedelic, like LSD, mushrooms, DMT, any of the many research chemicals now available, mescaline, etc.

 No.. everything has potential to be "Deep Deep", life-changing, etc. I'd argue that MDMA and. 2cb are more practical, useful even for therapy (mental benefit) than "traditional psyches". Furthurmore, it is MUCH more likely to have a positive experience than psyches which can leave someone mentally crippled. And sometimes, that can be a good thing, but it's not nearly as much of guarenteed positive athe MDA family and some 2c's (b, c, and D IMO)

@everlong
:lolsy: totally understandable though :drooling: that stuff is king for getting down

It's not a life changing experience man, I'm sorry to break it to you.

Your brain naturally produces serotonin to make you feel good. MDMA hijacks the dendrites that release this special neurotransmitter and your brain basically ends up getting flooded with it. You feel incredible for about 2 hours and then you feel like absolute shit for the next day. Your appetite is shot, it's very difficult to fall asleep, and you feel depressed and lose your empathy. You can feel like this for days until your brain re-synthesizes a sufficient supply of serotonin. Please eat well before dosing, try to consume fresh fruits, because the comedown is absolute shit. In fact, my friends and I have turned down M frequently just because we despise the "hangover" so bloody much. Hell, I've seen people with incredibly extroverted and fun personalities turn into speechless zombies for the next day after popping a molly, it's sad.

It's not a magical drug IMO. It's also really bad for your memory and mental health.

It feels good af, I'm not denying that, but please don't go into it expecting to come out wiser, happier, more content, enlightened, and so forth.

I completely disagree with pretty much everything you have said.

It was absolutely life-changing for me.  The social confidence and empathy I gained by taking MDMA 100% changed my life in a positive manner.

I also experience almost no hangover whatsoever.  i take MDMA 2-5 times a year and feel pretty much completely fine the next day.  A little tired, maybe a little burned out, but otherwise fine.  I would take an MDMA hangover 1000 times before a single even moderately bad alcohol hangover.

It sounds like the people you're talking about have been abusing the substance.  That goes without saying.  Abusing drugs, or anything for that matter, has repercussions, and is not even worth bringing into the conversation to someone who is doing MDMA for the first time and doesn't seem to have an addictive tendencies.

i feel like it really comes down to how good your drugs are, the better your mdma the less of a hangover ur gonna get

i mean if that kid only rolls for 2 hours and cant sleep after, i can almost guarantee its not mdma

real mdma = minimal hangover/comedown

theres been times when ive came down during a show and dont give a shit cuz the comedown isnt too noticable and cuz of the music...most recently this happened at a Pretty Lights show for me (played a friggin 3 hour set) and the last 20 minutes i was basically sober and still was having a great time

?? i cant believe you ahvent tried mdma. mdma is great man. i'd almost go as far as to say its the best drug on the planet. feels the best. just dont over-use it, because you become numb to it and lose the effect of it. always try to get by with the least possible dose, and dont take it too often, otherwise as i said before, you'll lose the effect of it. and its a wonderful effect!

it doesnt make your brain full of fuck like tripping does. just a nice happy buzz. feel good, enjoy everything and everyone type of stuff. its great. your still'you' on mdma

MDMA is awesome man. I've only taken ~.5g doses, and at that dose its not speedy at all IME.
I do MDMA and like to just relax, listen to music, and enjoy the awesome euphoria.
I never noticed a single negative side effect, and I used pretty regularly (bout twice a week) for a few months. I won't buy it where I live now though...I'm told they cut it with salt. WTF!?

I don't think anyone said those things definitely wouldn't happen, just that they don't personally get those unpleasant side effects.

mdma definitely has negative side effects -- depression, unbalancing the chemicals in your brain, fries your brain also if abused. but its great

For myself, in my experience with it...Absolutely! The "benefits" and positive aspects mdma provides is most definitely on par with what all the classic psychedelics have offered. But in a much different way.

My experiences with mdma were just as profound as my psychedelic experiences, but again, two different things we're talking about here. I have been taking mdma a couple times a year, sometimes a few more, for 5 or 6 years now, and it still continues to be magical and refreshing and something I really look forward to. Of course, though, there is nothing like the first time.

I'd say for some people, the "therapeutic potential" of mdma is considerably higher than a psychedelic. In a way, MDMA was a bigger "wake up" for me that psychedelics were.  In the aspects & areas of socializing/empathy/interaction with and understanding others, learning to control my thoughts, learned to be more collected and not so scattered. I just really became aware of things, about my self, and others, that I was totally oblivious to before. While psychedelics were more of a wake up to the far out trippyness of this thing called reality, and the lovey-dovey grand-cosmic-oneness of this universe thang, the deep connection to the earth and all that is.

MDMA is much more "grounded".

Agreed, when it comes down to it...

Even taken with a "recreational" mind set and in that sort of manner...not even trying to "work" on things, a therapeutic and beneficial experience is still likely in my experience/opinion. Just having a damn good time, a night of being worry free & floating on cloud-9, dancing, touching, moving, talking, loving, sometimes a night filled with that is the most refreshing thing ever that puts things into perspective.

i don't ever set out to resolve issues. it seems to me that trying to focus on any one thing might interfere with other stuff that may surface. and that goes for anything. are psychedelics revelatory? absolutely. but you can't force revelation any more than you can force "mystical" experiences. it just happens. get safe, relax and enjoy. you're going to get what you need in the end regardless of what you want.
