So she survived the frost and it's starting to warm up, the tip is getting soft.

But I'm conserned of what these dots are.

Dots like that are normal .
No worries unless they get soft .

The top three inches or so are soft. Should I lop em off?

No, they will probably be fine. You'll know when the cactus is rotten, if you squeeze it lightly, the skin will break immediately and the nasty slime will get out.

Don't do any lopping. All my pedros have those tiny dots, some are big patches. Never had any issues, lots of soft tips (what she said) also...never issues.

I've read during the winter they go a bit soft from the lack of water. Very normal.

I cant tell due to the angle of the first picture, but from what i can see the tip looks white and soft.
My cactus is going through the same thing, ive been water starving it for about 6 weeks. Then i put it in the garage to go dormant, and mom took it out, watered it the very same night and put it back outside..
Do you think itll survive in those conditions even with high 20 degree night temps?

Thats not cool should tell her not not water it. i think it will it is a mountain cactus, my friend limentroll who gave me this cutting and the others in my room. he said they do well in the temps of light freezing temps. And my cactus isnt white in the slightest just a little squishy, not rotten  and the angle, light and dust.

Ill have to take care of that once i get home. Right now im in Washington looking for mushies!

You should be alright. The cacti tend to act weird during the dormant period. So you have em in your room? How do they grow for you?
