I play basketball 2-3 times a week and I find watching NBA REALLY helps me improve every aspect of my game from moving without the ball, footwork, to making moves with the ball.

I don't get why people who don't like sports can't just accept that some people find them entertaining, much like... how they may have other interests....
almost like...

Everytime my Senators score a goal, I get a rush.

They are struggling this year, but still, I fucking love it.

For sure. I learned most of my footwork in the post as well as the right way to shoot a jump shot from watching games as a kid. Still trying to master the "eurostep". Players like Wade and CP3 make it look so damn easy and flawless.

Right to the point and absolutely true . Haters gonna hate tho. I find it weird that the majority of phychedelic users (at least from what I seen in this thread) aren't into sports. I wonder why that is. :strokebeard:

I have just started to learn the euro-step myself.  The footwork is so hard - it's basically the opposite of doing a layup which I have trained myself to do over the years.

Team fandom to me seems like an ego identification exercise.

I do enjoy watching sports, seeing a human beings competing at peak physical capacity is very compelling, and at the very least interesting.

When I'm asked what my "team" is this year, I always have to reply that I have none. I like many great players but they're spread out between all the different teams.

I watch for entertainment; what these athletes can do is fucking amazing.

I agree with that assumption and it seems really weird to me, because every time i trip i realize just how natural sporting is to humans.

One of the funnest things to do during a comedown IMO is to watch your favorite sports team. Every time i trip i develop a theory that every team has its own feel and character (obviously) and method of play. Its like with academia different ideologies battle (communism/capitalism, Behaviorism/Constructivism) you know, or am i totally striking out?

Lol i guess I’m one of these sorry suckers. My day is ruined after a hard loss. After seeing my favorite basketball team have the worst year in team history this year I’ve found that blowouts and the losing attitude make losses hurt much less, go figure :cookiemonster:

There is nothing worse in this world then getting there and not finishing, Sports Blue balls if you will

Quantom, I agree with everything you said except the ego identification part of your post.

I feel that cheering for a team is along the same lines of going to a concert because you like the same band as thousands of other people only without the aspect of competition.

On another note. You mentioned that you enjoy players from various different teams. If that's the case, I think you'd have a great time playing fantasy football or any other fantasy league of a sport you enjoy.

It gives you a reason to cheer for individual players on different teams.

Exactly. It almost feels like when I was first learning to lay up with my left hand instead of my right. Or switching hands on the way up. It takes so much dedication and practice to get it right, but once you have it down it'll be something that's ingrained in your muscle memory.

How long have you been playing if you don't mind me asking?

------------

I just saw your post Elax. That's a really cool way to look at it. I don't think much about sports when I'm tripping, but I find it awesome the way you look at it.

One of my first shroom trips ever when I was in HS tho I was walking by myself on the comedown around 3am in my neighborhood. I happened to stumble across a driveway that had a hoop and a basketball. It was one of the most fun trips I can remember. Just giggling like a schoolgirl shooting jumpers for a couple hours. Good times.

Fair enough. And hell yeah man! I'm in a fantasy NBA league, it's perfect for the spread out fan.
