I have kept colonized jars in the fridge for 3 months with no noticible problems. Some of the jars even froze.

Didn't bother keeping them in the dark. They won't fruit in the fridge. I just stuck them in the fridge and went about my business and when I used them 3 months later they worked fine. Didn't do anything special.

It's called "stalling", I suggest you do a forum search for the term.

put them in the coldest part of your fridge. dormancy occurs as 33 degrees F is approached. technically, you want to get it as cold as possible without the water in the mycillium freezing which would destroy cell walls. the bottom shelf of your fridge, in the back, should be fine for a few months.

Sorry dude, no hard feelings? I was just trying to explain to you the concept of obtaining as much info from different sources as possible, it's just too bad it didn't come across like that. Truly man, sorry.

Awww, how nice to see everyone get along and apologize. What a lovely community we have here, heeheheheh!!! This got me to thinking of a great way you could use this storage of jars. If you're into working w. agar or clones you could take ur colonized petri dish, knock up 6 jars w. it. Take those 6 jars, turn em into 36 via grain to grain transfer. Then unless u just make a shitload of casings all the time, u could take all those badass jars and store em and be set for a while on jars. Or if ur a professional, u could take those 36, make 6 from each one, and have, what's 6*36, i'm not that good at math. But u get the picture!!!
