Habitat: Wood mulch for herb garden. I think redwood. Gills: Adnate. Close. Cap: Wavy and slightly umbonate. All were around 1in in diameter. Bruises blue on the stem. It has bruised more since the picture was taken. Spore Print: In progress. The cap I took doesn't seem to have that much spores, so I think I'll do another one.
Sorry the photos are focused very well.

Thanks! I'm excited. I'm in cali. I'm going to try the cardboard tech with the stems. I did that with oysters a while ago and it worked pretty well.

ive seen i big lump that look like them growing in a public park probably 1-2 sq. ft. but im not sure they grow like that. a tip is, usually they would probably have sticky/wet tops because the first time i went picking, i only took caramel/ light brown wavy caps, and they all ended up having white/chalky spore prints

White spore prints + growing in a big clump suggests Armillaria (honey mushroom), though I can't be sure without a picture. No Psilocybe has a white spore print.

Oh, i didnt pick the big clump because i was with my 6 year old cousin at a reunion lawl. Tge white spored ones grew down the street in my nieghborhood in one of the forest reserve things they have around here. Those white spore ones were dry on the top and were growing in clumps of 3-5. Mostly around trees and dry, bark like areas. The top looked alot like cyanesens except it was a lightish brown color and didnt extrude in the middle as much.
