Trying MDMA for the first time on New Year's, life-changing experience?
    #19320755 - 12/24/13 11:47 AM (10 years, 1 month ago)

Hey so I know MDMA has been used in therapy effectively, I was wondering what ya'lls opinion on it regarding motivating/moving experiences is?

Psychedelics have been wonderful for facilitating thought-provoking/life-changing experiences for me, but MDMA seems to be much more typically considered a "party drug" instead of a tool for personal growth

Do you find rolling to have the same sorts of benefits that tripping can provide someone with, or is it generally only of a recreational sort of thing?

I don't think Ecstasy (MDMA or MDA) is as good for epiphanies as psychs are, but much more enjoyable and social. If u struggle socially, then MDMA may help u move past it

Depends on setting as well.

MDMA removes anxiety, so a good talk about some stuff that's bothering you with a good listener can be life changing.
I've always found that it is like looking at yourself with an endless ammount of compassion and empathy which can allow you to let go of certain things.

Many of its therapeutic benefits aren't those of spontaneous revelations or moving realizations, but rather they represent the empathogenic effects allowing people who have suffered extreme trauma to open up and talk to therapists when they might have literally been unable to talk about it before.

MDMA has easily changed my life more than any other drug experience has.

I'm also rolling on NYE!

For me, rolling is recreational, but it helps me to enjoy other folks' company and gives me a lot of patience, definitely a necessity on a night like New Year's Eve when some folks tend to get a little wild or out of control.

Let's have a Shroomery Rolling New Year's Eve!

I have rolled a bit too much in my days to really enjoy it any longer... even when spaced apart massively.

NYE however... I always end up rolling, just for old times sake.

First time rolling felt very natural and life-changing. I had a glow and vigor about me that lasted for a week and a half. mdma after the first few times turned into pure artificial pleasure, accompanied by lousy comedowns and a limp dick.

These for me  Tested at 170mg (+-10mg, so potentially 160-180). I'm still undecided about NYE, might be a 2cb night.

@sheekle
E and 2C-B are about the most therapeutic drugs IMO. When used sparingly, at least (although 2c-b seems to be incredibly safe to dose days in a row). Mescaline comes close, but not quite.

I think it's more dose dependent than situational IMO. If I dose too high before/at a show, I'm still gonna be on the floor, up against the wall etc.

But, even "beast mode at a show" is pretty therapeutic IMO. I mean, the whole reason it's tempting to go "beast mode" is because I/you feel incredible  All the usual euphoria of having attended a show, x10.

@sheekle
Well, there's a good chance you enjoy E :tongue2: Pretty hard not to
Only advice I think necessary is that you may get some stomach cramps before (or during, or after, but those won't bother you as much ), it's entirely normal. Your gut is lined with serotonin receptors (hence why high doses of psyches cause stomach issues too). If you're in any way nervous, that's normal too, (for any drug) but after you try it once I doubt you're ever scared of it again

As to why/how I think it's so therapeutic for me, it's love. It makes me feel so content, so accepting of everything that's ever happened to me and will happen to me.  As long as I haven't rolled in a couple months, I'll be glowing for a few days after use. No side effects whatsoever, even dosing up to .4-.5g, AS LONG AS it's been a month or two since my last roll. More often than that starts to burn me out. Similarly, if I eat .5g+, I'll most likely feel very burnt out the next day. And it's not even very unpleasant, IMO, more of a zombie emotionless feeling

Enjoy  :dawerp:

M1 is better, you get to dose more, more uplifting, basically MDMA sucks and Methylone is better.

Just don't get addicted.

And it's probably a rip off price since the ban, I used to buy the shit for 3 bucks a gram during the RC heyday. :nonono:

IMO M1 is equally good as MDMA, just shorter and a higher dose. Still not much more than $25-30/g for a single gram, last I checked.

I'd still pay $30 for a gram, shit was fun.

It was so funny telling people "it's bk-mdma/methylone, not MDMA", they'd try it, say "Yea it is, it's just good. You must not have had good molly before"

MDMA is not really a true psychedelic. It only really gives a sense of empathy which can be good for couple's therapy..that's about it though. The only visuals are those of mild ghost tracers. VERY mild. Psychedelic means "mind manifesting" and ecstasy, er, mdma, whatever you wanna call it these days, molly, doesn't get DEEP DEEP into the mind like a true psychedelic.

If you want a life changing experience, you need to do a true psychedelic, like LSD, mushrooms, DMT, any of the many research chemicals now available, mescaline, etc.

Me and my friend/roommate took a "nintendo" pill each - from the beautiful Netherlands. We had very little drug experience prior and did not know what to expect.

Two hours into this; We are on our houses porch, it is pouring rain, warm, and cozy. I have never empathized and truly "felt" for another human being more than I did in that hour.

We both became each others worries, anxieties, and both cried together as we finally understood the fears each of us had. It was intensely bonding.

Enjoy, this shit is what may cure the planet.

What side effects would you be talking about? The only thing I can think of is jaw clenching and the comedown which is totally worth it.

It's not a life changing experience man, I'm sorry to break it to you.

Your brain naturally produces serotonin to make you feel good. MDMA hijacks the dendrites that release this special neurotransmitter and your brain basically ends up getting flooded with it. You feel incredible for about 2 hours and then you feel like absolute shit for the next day. Your appetite is shot, it's very difficult to fall asleep, and you feel depressed and lose your empathy. You can feel like this for days until your brain re-synthesizes a sufficient supply of serotonin. Please eat well before dosing, try to consume fresh fruits, because the comedown is absolute shit. In fact, my friends and I have turned down M frequently just because we despise the "hangover" so bloody much. Hell, I've seen people with incredibly extroverted and fun personalities turn into speechless zombies for the next day after popping a molly, it's sad.

It's not a magical drug IMO. It's also really bad for your memory and mental health.

It feels good af, I'm not denying that, but please don't go into it expecting to come out wiser, happier, more content, enlightened, and so forth.

Yeah. I've suffered some trauma in my short love life, including being in a relationship with a severe alcoholic who'd become abusive while loaded.

The only sort of therapeutic benefit I get out of MDMA is an ability to begin relationships with new girls/open up to them (as in talking; not being purposefully distant and withholding information). This tends to come at a steep price though. I don't like mdma's physical effects (loss of appetite/uncomfortable energy/elevated heart rate).

If I never took it again, I'd be a pretty happy dude. Never much of a good idea, especially with today's wonderful market of expanding substances available!

In summation, great for it's intended use: couple's therapy

Hey so I know MDMA has been used in therapy effectively, I was wondering what ya'lls opinion on it regarding motivating/moving experiences is?

Psychedelics have been wonderful for facilitating thought-provoking/life-changing experiences for me, but MDMA seems to be much more typically considered a "party drug" instead of a tool for personal growth

Do you find rolling to have the same sorts of benefits that tripping can provide someone with, or is it generally only of a recreational sort of thing?

MDMA definitely has therapeutic value, but IMO it is different than the values you can gain from psychedelics. MDMA is more of an "opening up" kind of drug. It can make you comfortable saying things that you normally wouldn't want to talk about. The massive serotonin release feels pretty damn therapeutic too.

Be safe and have fun. I think you'll enjoy yourself. I know you love your LSD, so hopefully you'll like MDMA enough to try a candyflip.

 No.. everything has potential to be "Deep Deep", life-changing, etc. I'd argue that MDMA and. 2cb are more practical, useful even for therapy (mental benefit) than "traditional psyches". Furthurmore, it is MUCH more likely to have a positive experience than psyches which can leave someone mentally crippled. And sometimes, that can be a good thing, but it's not nearly as much of guarenteed positive athe MDA family and some 2c's (b, c, and D IMO)

@everlong
:lolsy: totally understandable though :drooling: that stuff is king for getting down

I completely disagree with pretty much everything you have said.

It was absolutely life-changing for me.  The social confidence and empathy I gained by taking MDMA 100% changed my life in a positive manner.

I also experience almost no hangover whatsoever.  i take MDMA 2-5 times a year and feel pretty much completely fine the next day.  A little tired, maybe a little burned out, but otherwise fine.  I would take an MDMA hangover 1000 times before a single even moderately bad alcohol hangover.

It sounds like the people you're talking about have been abusing the substance.  That goes without saying.  Abusing drugs, or anything for that matter, has repercussions, and is not even worth bringing into the conversation to someone who is doing MDMA for the first time and doesn't seem to have an addictive tendencies.

i feel like it really comes down to how good your drugs are, the better your mdma the less of a hangover ur gonna get

i mean if that kid only rolls for 2 hours and cant sleep after, i can almost guarantee its not mdma

real mdma = minimal hangover/comedown

theres been times when ive came down during a show and dont give a shit cuz the comedown isnt too noticable and cuz of the music...most recently this happened at a Pretty Lights show for me (played a friggin 3 hour set) and the last 20 minutes i was basically sober and still was having a great time

?? i cant believe you ahvent tried mdma. mdma is great man. i'd almost go as far as to say its the best drug on the planet. feels the best. just dont over-use it, because you become numb to it and lose the effect of it. always try to get by with the least possible dose, and dont take it too often, otherwise as i said before, you'll lose the effect of it. and its a wonderful effect!

it doesnt make your brain full of fuck like tripping does. just a nice happy buzz. feel good, enjoy everything and everyone type of stuff. its great. your still'you' on mdma

MDMA is awesome man. I've only taken ~.5g doses, and at that dose its not speedy at all IME.
I do MDMA and like to just relax, listen to music, and enjoy the awesome euphoria.
I never noticed a single negative side effect, and I used pretty regularly (bout twice a week) for a few months. I won't buy it where I live now though...I'm told they cut it with salt. WTF!?

For myself, in my experience with it...Absolutely! The "benefits" and positive aspects mdma provides is most definitely on par with what all the classic psychedelics have offered. But in a much different way.

My experiences with mdma were just as profound as my psychedelic experiences, but again, two different things we're talking about here. I have been taking mdma a couple times a year, sometimes a few more, for 5 or 6 years now, and it still continues to be magical and refreshing and something I really look forward to. Of course, though, there is nothing like the first time.

I'd say for some people, the "therapeutic potential" of mdma is considerably higher than a psychedelic. In a way, MDMA was a bigger "wake up" for me that psychedelics were.  In the aspects & areas of socializing/empathy/interaction with and understanding others, learning to control my thoughts, learned to be more collected and not so scattered. I just really became aware of things, about my self, and others, that I was totally oblivious to before. While psychedelics were more of a wake up to the far out trippyness of this thing called reality, and the lovey-dovey grand-cosmic-oneness of this universe thang, the deep connection to the earth and all that is.

MDMA is much more "grounded".

Agreed, when it comes down to it...

Even taken with a "recreational" mind set and in that sort of manner...not even trying to "work" on things, a therapeutic and beneficial experience is still likely in my experience/opinion. Just having a damn good time, a night of being worry free & floating on cloud-9, dancing, touching, moving, talking, loving, sometimes a night filled with that is the most refreshing thing ever that puts things into perspective.

it's really hard to not have a good time on mdma. forget about the therapy bullshit and just go with the flow.

Agreed, when it comes down to it...

Even taken with a "recreational" mind set and in that sort of manner...not even trying to "work" on things, a therapeutic and beneficial experience is still likely in my experience/opinion. Just having a damn good time, a night of being worry free & floating on cloud-9, dancing, touching, moving, talking, loving, sometimes a night filled with that is the most refreshing thing ever that puts things into perspective.

i don't ever set out to resolve issues. it seems to me that trying to focus on any one thing might interfere with other stuff that may surface. and that goes for anything. are psychedelics revelatory? absolutely. but you can't force revelation any more than you can force "mystical" experiences. it just happens. get safe, relax and enjoy. you're going to get what you need in the end regardless of what you want.

awesome sheekle, have an opening and heart warming time man!!

I have found it is theraputic and the next day after doing some good clean mdma  years back i felt just a tad sleepy the next day.  It brought to my awareness just how good it felt to talk and express myself with my friend. ANd helped open me up to dancing.

I finally found real mdma again at a festival but I ended up throwing it into a fire during a wild trip.

I have some 6apb I am excited to explore in hopes that it has a theraputic potential on par with mdma. How do yall feel about 6apb therapeutically?

6apb is awesome. my only complaint is that it makes your head/jaw sore the next day. 5-mapb is the best i've tried so far.

For me, rolling is recreational, but it helps me to enjoy other folks' company and gives me a lot of patience, definitely a necessity on a night like New Year's Eve when some folks tend to get a little wild or out of control.

Let's have a Shroomery Rolling New Year's Eve!

So, are we gonna do this? It's 7:00 pm EST. Hippie Flip ETA in 2.0 hours...
