Sports Fans: Do you fake it?

Do you really care? Does having your local team give score a big win give you a big spiritual boner? Please justify.
Is it just a social thing?

Yeah I like playing all sports, but spectating I like basketball and football. Go over to the sports forum and you'll find some hardcore fans who are great actors if they are faking

I mostly don't care at all. Most of the guys that play for the local professional teams aren't from there anyway. It's not even really local pride. I'm happy about it when my teams win, but I don't care if they lose. It doesn't affect my day.

I'm curious about this too. I've always thought that professional sports was kinda silly and I've never understood how some people could get so emotional over their teams. I've watched games with avid fans and they totally get into it with the cheering, and screaming, and cussing, and blood pressure rising, and pounding on the walls and floors and all the rest of the whathaveyou. Unless I had big money bet on the game I couldn't ever see myself getting so excited.

Fuck I was not clever enough. We need to find a way to get them to spill they guts in a way that makes sense to us non-afficianados so I can figure out how to make money off of cheap logoisms.

I love Flatland BMX, extreme sports, weight lifting...if you can even count that as a sport. I actually do those things though. I'm not a big fan of team sports (football, soccer, basketball) but I can see why one would enjoy playing those.
What I don't get is the whole spectator aspect of team sports. Sitting on your ass drinking beer and eating shit all day. Some people here in the US will literally put everything in their life on hold just for the the "game".

Naw I mean who are all these people who appeciate mainstream sports. I can explain it but I'd like to hear the people who dig it explain it. AFAIK it is just as primal as music.

I' don't know how many responses you'll get here on the shroomery from peeps who dig mainstream sports. Most of us prefer droogz over sports. I could very well be wrong though.
Why you ask this question, just curios?

I'm a fan of just about every sport out there and tremendous respect for athletes that compete at the professional level. Well the sports in North and South America anyways.
As far as being a die hard fan and getting spiritual boners from games, It's only for -Miami Heat -Miami Dolphins -Miami Hurricanes Football and Basketball (college)
My love for these sports is mostly because I've been attending their games since I was around 6 years old on a regular basis. Just the atmosphere of being in an arena or stadium with anywhere from 30 to 70 thousand people around you all cheering for the same thing is a great feeling. An unspoken form of brotherhood if you will.
Another reason is that I play or played the sports that I'm passionate about through out high school to competitively and recreationally to this day. So I guess I'm trying to re live over a decade ago vicariously through the athletes that I look up to. Even though the majority of them are younger than me now.
I hope this post makes some sort of sense to people that don't follow sports whatsoever.

It is, to a point. Hang around some hardcore football fans during NFL season and you'll see the bad side effects. I've had quite a few acquaintances that would literally be in a bad mood for weeks, solely because their team lost an "important" game in the prior week. It's fuckin hilarious.

No it doesn't make sense to me yet, but thanks for your input, that is exactly what I'm looking for. I follow minute differences in drug quality relative to phone numbers I know, so it is hard to judge, but that whole shit seem like a waste of time to me, like a big act.

Don't pretend mang. Soon as people start talking about football and ask me what my favorite team is, I just tell em I don't like football. They look at me funny and I tell them why and then we move on to better subjects. At least I'm not lying to them.
