You might as well YOLO it and see if you can get anything out. Otherwise get a new PC.

You could have boiled it and poured and gotten lucky. I would have used it for some kind of experiments.

oh well it's too late now, sorry to sound like such a sour puss but i've been working hard at this for a year now and can't seem to get success. i've read as much as i can and then some and in theory know all i need to in order to achieve success but in practice i always run into problems i thought i was making progress with my attitude but last night showed otherwise, i was fucking choked and had a very very bad attitude all night not even considering it was the holidays and that my little issue shouldn't matter right now but the time i've put in has resulted in too many failures....i just don't think i can make it to the point i wanna be. i've tried 3 mono tubs doing everything right and lost one to verticillium mold and 1 to trich after attempting to case and the last one i lost to bad spawn i didn't spot, so i decided to the agar route and made a post about it as i ordered pre made/sterilized agar and dishes but nobody had a clue when i asked and i was more confused then when i posted, poured a couple weeks later and fucked that up too, now i finally did it all on my own right from scratch and my pc breaks, again sorry for the bitching and venting but i'm not feeling cut out for this any more

A bad streak gets anyone down buddy. Take break and decompress. Try something different than a tub. Do something small but perfect and move from there. Baby steps. I know I am jumping in and even with some success feeling let down.
You could have used the agar for working on sterile technique and testing contam rates but like I said maybe a breather and fresh start in the new year will help.

The hardest part of this hobby is the learning failures. Even though there are communication forums, most of what you will see and learn is an individual experience. Its hard to start into mycology jumping head first as most of us have done. We all know the theory, but just guess around the rest. Good luck, and remember what you learned already cannot be taken away.

the great thing about this hobby is mushrooms grow fast. even if things go bad it doesn't take long to get going again. just take a deep breath dust yourself of and get back on that horse. each failure is an education. it gets easier every time you try.

Why not instead of putting all your eggs in one basket, make smaller trays and make more of em instead of the one or two monotubs. Money yer % of success rate

The mono were not all I had, I have had some success with small trays and cakes. Can't put any eggs in my basket now as I can't sterilize them but I would like to thank shroomery for the support over the year, been a journey none the less and a few of you whippy for one have been there since my first post, and I never dove into anything I started with cakes and tried to move on when people suggested agar and was doing fine, I have fifteen plates of pan cyans and 23 plates of cubes right now but nuthing to do with them, just when I was feeling on top of the world my pc crapped out and I got no money now or even within the month to get one. But oh well sometimes shits just not meant to happen I guess, I should have just stuck with cakes. If it was legal id give my plates to a better person but I guess I'll just burry them outside for now and again thank u guys u really are a community like no other

Take it to a machinist/metalworker. He can remove what's left in the 1/4" NPT (standard) hole, chase the threads out, and you can replace what's broken. Bring the part that you need with you and he'll probably install it for free.
I love having my own shop, tools, abilities to fix things. I'm too poor to take it to someone else so I fix it myself.

Why does the fridge scare you? Just throw them in baggies or wrap with parafilm and they will be fine.
