Spawn cake to coir!

Ok so this is my 2nd grow and I took a brf cake and spawned to 50/50 coir and Verm! 2 days after spawn how does it look?

How do I know when to fruit? When it's completely white.

yes, or you can wait til you see knots or pins. but most just wait until top is 100% colonized

to the OP...i fruited mine when it looked like the 1st pic, which is not optimal. it depends if u mixed ur spawn all the way really well and if u used a top layer of substrate over the mix. if u did use top layer, sometimes it will start to knot/pin before full colonization, in which case put it into fruiting conditions. check out Franhorrigans stuff, ur BRF can be substituted for his WBS. he has really good write ups and summaries, and pics that will help on ur grows. to twisted: oh haha, i was thinking "dude wtf is wrong with my post??" haha

Thanks I mixed spawn very well and put a 1/4 inch layer on top so I really do know got plenty of time so I'll wait it's only been 2 days it's goin super fast though can't wait to see the yeiled compared to cakes.

i found better yield, but it was because i could keep conditions better with the spawning. never had enough cakes at one time to really make an sgfc work well. i got impatient (bad) and just went straight to spawning to bulk. i still do a cake now and then, but just for testing agar isolates, but not even that much. been digging violet grain petri tek for that now.

Had to remake a sgfc today got creative with the first a screwed A 2x4 to the top so after my last grow I think my FAE was horrible so built a new bigger one
