Bank transfer using western union?

One vendors only accepts bank transfers, but they say that you can use western union to transfer the money to their bank account. When I have used western union you use the name of the person not the bank numbers like the IBAN number. Does anyone know if you can some how use western union to do a bank transfer anonymously, or any way to do a bank transfer anonymously?
here is a quote from them. They said they only accept bank transfers but. "You can however use WesternUnion to transfer money to our bank account. Western Union will not transmit names or order numbers, so you will have to notify us about your payment."

Sounds like the vendor is a clueless newbie. Bank transfers cost an arm and a leg, inside usa will cost you perhaps $30 to send and the receiving bank wants money too, which you will no doubt be expected to pay. Sending outside the country costs a lot more and with any bank wire transfer you have to provide positive id.
WU can be done without showing id in most cases if the amount is under about $800 or so, it varies and some places might ask for id on any amount. WU fee for overseas is about $10 (varies) and less inside usa. But i have never heard of wu to bank account, i don't believe it is doable.
I'd straighten that out and if he insists on bank transfers, find another vendor.

Whats very odd is that all the good vendors I have found recently only accept bank transfers, and their sos ratings are very good.

What are the names of these good vendors? Are you talking about europe? SEPA transfers are not that expensive but only for that general area, usa to europe is going to cost you plenty. If they allow wu then that would be much better for usa customers.

Why wouldn't you use wu?

Some people including some one I know thinks that if a place is using western union they are nearly automatically trying to scam you, the person I know thinks its also so when you overdose you can't sue the vendor. I think western union is the best way to pay.

Well, that's what I would be most concerned about. If the vendor's feedback is good i guess go for it, obviously don't give away any info that can be traced back to you and have someone else send it for you if you plan on sending in person.

I can answer this.
the vendor is saying that you will have to give them the MTCN number after you send them the payment because Western Union does not notify them. (this is because anybody could steal anyone's money that way - Western Union is technically meant for friends and family to send money in emergency situations, not for businesses).
basically all you need to do is send the correct amount of money to the name and country they give you. they might give you a bank name and bank account #, use that if they do so. it depends how they have it set up. then give them your name you sent from, your MTCN number, and the amount you sent.
You won't be asked to give an ID to use WU.
I sent $520 once USA to Europe and the fee was $45. You can use that to figure out what it is.
also if u use WU and the receipt shows u sending less than what the vendor asked, don't sweat it, WU takes out a little bit for themselves in the conversion process. as long as YOU converted properly USD to euros is what matters.
A lot of scammers use WU but just as many legit companies use WU as well. if they check out on SoS then chances are they're good but u never know for sure til you try.
