Calendar-based contraceptive methods

Alright Shroomery, so what's the deal with calendar-based contraceptive methods? My girlfriend and I were talking about sex and she mentioned that I don't have to use a condom if she says so. At first I was like "no way. As much as I love sex without a condom, I don't wanna risk pregnancy at all." She said that it was all good because she keeps track of her ovulation and all that other stuff.
How safe is doing this? I don't know anything about these methods, so I'm doing some reading right now about it. If you practice this, is it effective? I'd definitely pull out while doing this, but I can't help but think that I'd get paranoid and shit.... I'm not worried about my girl messing up with her calender and accidentally letting me in when I shouldn't, she's always spot on with it. It's just...... I hate kids and I really don't want a kid
Please shed some light on this subject for me!

I'll check out that thread. I have that same point of view of it.... which is why I'm scared to do that.

The thread is a little bit of mixed opinion.
But I'd be scared literally every time. Yeah, it works but just like any other contraceptive methods, it doesn't always work

Dude, i've busted a thousand nuts into gals on birth control. The only time I've had pregnancy scares was when I was dumb enough to think "oh, it's early in the cycle, I'll just pull out." Birth control works. Paying attention to her cycle totally works, until it totally doesn't.
I feel it necessary to point out that girls want to get pregnant. Just like you totally want to blow your load in that sweet pussy, she wants it too. We're just wired that way, whether we consciously admit it or not.

I checked it out, it was more of a "what are your birth control option other than hormones," IMO. The first time we had sex, I went in her with out a condom. I wasn't planning on it, I was just rubbing my dick against her pussy and it went it so I kept going for a lil bit. She then told me she was ovulating and I got all scared for a while cause I know people who have gotten pregnant from precum........ Luckily nothing happened.
My girl definitely doesn't want to get pregnant. We both dislike kids and wouldn't want to have to take care of some one for the rest of our lives.

Yeah it can be pretty scary not knowing.
Really the best is to just use the condom

Birth control comes with all sorts of side-effects so it's not the best solution for everybody.
Ovulation cycling, if done correctly, is between 91-94% effective (better than condoms). Even better if she uses one of those ovulation detectors to tell when she is ovulating.

We used on of those methods too. Also because my partner suffered from side-effects.
It entailed making a schematic graph about her periods/ovulation's, fluid analysis and monitor her daily temperature. It worked perfectly for 2+ years.
Then my GF thought is was 11th when it was actually the 13th or something and I am now the proud father of a 10 month old daughter.
The techniques are good, its the women you should be wary off...

There's a reason there is an FDA approval process and it is not complete. Unless you would otherwise get a vasectomy best to wait.

because the FDA is the only authority in the world for determining drug safety its been around for 15 years with a 100% success rate. Good enough for me haha

I've been having unprotected sex with the same girl for 2 years now. Never a scare. We pull out, except for during her period plus about 3 days leading up to it, when I cum inside.
For the first 6 months, we were having sex at least 10 times a week. Nowadays it's more like 3-5.

Now that I think about it, I was really careless with my ex and we didn't use protection like half the time..... If that worked out, this method would probably work with my new girlfriend. Especially since she keeps track of her stuff and we wouldn't be careless
A lot of people seem to have it work out, and it's not like I would never use a condom. Just sometimes, I guess. I'll just research this a lil more.

This. My girlfriend has a friend who was doing this, and ended up pregnant. She wanted a baby and her partner didn't - but now he's got a daughter.
My girlfriend wanted to do this, and i was opposed.
When i was researching i read that it had something like 60-75% success rate (which is very low!)

You can actually achieve a decent level of security but you have to be thorough and honest.
The strength of these methods lies in combining certain biological factors. The female body gives a number of indications on whether or not its able to conceive at the moment.
The same techniques can off course always be used to get pregnant. With the same knowledge its easy to find the moments of greatest fertility too.

I trust my girl for getting her dates right. She's really spiritual and in tune with her body, she is a belly dancer Honestly.... this method sounds chill. I'll just have to wait until I get the chance to try I out or not
