Mycelium completely took over contamination on grain *PICS*

About 50 days ago I inoculated 2 bags of grain spawn with a contaminated liquid cubensis culture.
The grain was covered in cobweb (and perhaps a fair bit of bacteria, due to terribly kept LC) though it still had a fair amount of healthy mycelium running through.
I threw the grain in the corner of my bedroom waiting to use it for an outdoor bed if it was to last through the winter.
Today, I returned to the contaminated grain and, to my amazement, found a strong and overly colonized brick of healthy spawn.
I broke some of the spawn bags apart and through the filter patch it emanated a very pleasant and healthy smell of mushroom, opposed to the strong bacterial odor it possessed several weeks ago.
Should I go ahead and use this spawn and will it be safe to use on pasteurized manure?
Ill be posting pics of the bags when my phone is charged.
**PICS**

tough call. Does that form of contaminant form spores? If so, I would be worried about it (leftover spores) contaminating the spawn run.

In the second pic you can see that nasty metabolite/bacterial froth if I were to use it, which I probably will, Ill give the spawn a good rinse before use.

If you are using it outdoors go for it and see want happens . Be careful and don't wear the same clothes when you come back in the house.

It wouldn't be the first time. Happen to me before.
 after a while

After a while the mycelium started winning and ate that bad stuff up. I spawned it separately and got some good shrooms from it. Be careful though, if that stuff doesn't smell right toss it.

The strain is 'corumba brazil' I don't really remember the story behind it but I'm pretty sure that the strain hasn't been around for more than a few years (you might want to ask Ryche Hawk or someone else about it). It would only make sense that this strain would be so hardy being so exposed to the elements compared to B+ which has had years of genetic training in sterile environments.

I didnt make myself clear. I'm no geneticist and am certainly not making any claims but it would just seem that an organism that has had more recent exposure to battling with other organisms in nature would be more contaminate resistant compared to one that has been selectively cultivated and genetically isolated to perform a certain way in sterile environments. When taking into consideration the incredibly short lifespan of a mushroom and how many life cycles they can go through in say 20 years there's no question that its genetics and capabilities are going to be changed. I'm not saying there aren't holes in my argument but I'd like to hear your reason why it makes no sense at all.

I let the bags go for a few more days and coincidentally they blew up like balloons. So yeah, definitely going straight to the compost pile. That is all.

ive had this happen a couple times, i have 2 jars that out did some mold, was gonna bring them into some little bulk trays just to do some science. i know alot of people on the forums will flame that you should throw them as not to contaminate your house but ive never experienced this just be clean as you normally should and you will be fine.

That's disgustingly contaminated. Mushroom mycelium will not 'win' against bacteria and mold in a jar. In nature outdoors, it will find a niche in the available substrate and often recover. This is why we say to toss contaminated substrates outdoors into a flower bed or garden area.
Toss that mess out. It's also common for new growers to see green mold and then a few weeks later see mycelium crawling over the green mold. They think it's recovered, but it hasn't. It's the mold spores which have germinated and started to grow a second generation. RR

Pitch 'em.
I just had a similar situation ramping up some G2G jars and I thought things looked fine. A couple other forum members thought the myc looked funky, but I let them go and spawned them out anyways. Ended up with a tub that colonized and never fruited because the contaminant ended up winning out in the end. While mycelium is strong, it is apparently not as contaminant-proof as I had hoped. It may win a single battle, but that doesn't mean the war is over. The contaminant is still in there, biding its time...

Do you guys think that the myc will survive the winter? My compost pile isn't very active. So it will probably get below freezing a few times during the coming months. The pile does consist of lots of dead grass, which would probably serve as nutrition.
