The 2nd group looks maybe Inocyboid, but I haven't seen any quite like those that I recall.

What color were the gills and stems on those Flammulina?  They look a bit Hypholoma-y to me.  Spore print?

The stipes where off white with cream gills that did not seem crowded. Unfortunately I did not see on any spore deposit on the caps. The rosy central color on the pileus was the natural color of the cap.

Thank you for pointing that species out to me I would have to go back into the field and collect a specimen to be able to joust back efficiently.

They looked nothing like H. fasciculare which is what drew me to them. not saying they aren't H. capnoides though. They had a slightly viscid pileus and rubbery fruit body.

I may go back into town check them out later today. They are not too accessible at the moment. I live in the woods at the foot of the coast range.

Ok, I made it back. upon further investigation they have an astringent odor I did not notice before. My asumption now is that they are indeed a Hypholoma species. Touché! I am bringing a specimen home for further investigation and microscopy. On my way to take a sample of the Inocyboid fungus to do the same.

Took my newer camera out to practice today.  Found a few little unknowns to practice on.  I believe one is a Galarina sp. , Psathyrella sp. and maybe a Mycena sp?    Any ideas?  I think my pictures are getting better.  What do you think?

Thanks for the encouragement man!  I'm hoping I'll get this camera dialed in to its full potential and by then I'll have a dslr.

My sister just got a canon 70d with two sweet lenses and she said I could practice with it before I buy my own.  I was very jelly fished when she pulled it out of the case!

i would consider a 60D for shooting mushrooms, 70d is pointlessly expensive for the AF. MF is best for shrooms. the day i switched :header:

Nice though! looking sweet!

Joust,  I use MF on my camera too.  Way better! Except if I forget my glasses haha

I'm not looking to spend that much on a camera anyway.

Yeah, its a dumb camera in my opinion. but still the nicest model canon makes with an articulated screen...  Which you need imo.

The 70d does unfortunately seem to try to appeal to videographers more than still shooters, but why would a videographer bother purchasing this camera over better more dedicated options? Having said that, I am saving up to buy one
