It will speed it up but is unnecessary IME if they colonize at room temp they will fruit at a lower temp too. Pinch pennys

If you are referring to a Tek like this one,Frank's tub-in-tub incubator, then you are doing it correct, although 82 degrees seems a little high, 80'ish seems more the consensus.
Cheers, and Good Luck!

IME incubators are a waste of time. I started just putting my jars on a shelf in my closet witch stays around 74 degrees and they colonize in 7 to 10 days after G2G transfer.
remember the temp inside jars is about 5 degrees higher than the outside temp so at 82 you are way to high.

next time you inoculate leave however many jars you choose on the shelf, i tried taking one of my jars away from the rest that were incubating with extra heat, and just use room temp on it, but i think the temp change shocked it or maybe somehow invited contams. I'd say keep doing what youre doing with what you got and maybe drop the temp a tid bit.

it will take longer to colonize but as far as incubation temps it makes no difference how you inoculated your jars.

Ideally u want to have your jars finish as close to each other as possible so you can dunk and fruit in larger quantity of cakes one cake in the fc will not keep a micro climate like 5 or more will it won't have a huge effect but will be beneficial

If u must though a big plastic tub. Water in that with aquarium heater and place a styrafoam container so its a slow temp change inside the styrafoam as to not stall of ur power goes out etc. And darkness in my opinion is better. Its not critical but pins form in light and u would be better off letting that happen in ur fc

Jars/bags/tubs/trays should colonize @ room temperature getting ambient/indirect light.
Main pinning triggers are full colonization, FAE and Evaporation off of the substrate.
Light is a secondary pinning trigger. For tropical species temperature is not a pinning factor.
Light has been proven beneficial during all stages of mycellium growth. Mushrooms like mammals have a circadian rhythm.
You want ambient/indirect light(on a 12/12 schedule preferably) for colonization and consolidation.
You want direct/intense 6500K light on a 12/12 schedule for fruiting.
Mycelium should be exposed to ambient room light from day of inoculation as has been known for many years. Light is not a pinning trigger until after full colonization and an increase in air is given, and even then it's a secondary pinning trigger. RR

Mushrooms grown in total darkness will still grow straight up, opposite gravity.Mushrooms turn towards the light because they are using it as a source of energy. That's why mushrooms grown with the proper amount and spectrum of light grow much larger and heavier than mushrooms grown with insufficient light. It's also why light is just as important during the growth phase as it is during the pinning stage. RR
