I were quite fond of the little one in the middleright...
-------------------- And thus begins the reverse-fusing of our one-dimentional understanding, and adds ever-expanding perspectives, in depth and number; splitting our perception, and in so doing, seemingly irrationally, creates yet more one-ness, with all that ever was, is and will ever be, streching across the infinite, inunderstood concept of everything, percievable and not.

i don't really feel comfortable giving advise yet, just share my limited experience and float around and try to learn myself but my first one was all i really needed but i figured 3 would be safe in case i lost some, i'll stick around and see if you get some solid answers, i'm waiting on my own answers as well you have some fuzz on your cap, when i seen that in my first mono it turned out to be verticillium or something like that but mine were way worse, sorry i don't mean to cause alarm

If you're asking how many cultures to take, my guess is that you don't yet have a refrigerator full of cultures. I'd take four, scrap all of them but the best one after ten days and then transfer that best one out to three more. If you're using reusable plates like Pasty's tek, really the only limiting factor is storage space.

So you're monster hunting? It's a fun hobby.
Do it! What kind of agar tek are you using?

Tell Out-Grow that. Nobody thinks to stock a product until they become aware of a demand. Personally I was never keen on sectored plates, though.

Just a good way to save on the cost of plates. Of course there are easier and cheaper ways to do that as well
