How's my fc look?

Cakes were left for a week after fully colonizing then dunked for 24 hours and rolled in Verm. Then I placed them in the bottom of a cut out milk bottle filled with a few inches of saturated perlite, the milk bottle has a snap lock bag taped to the outside which is used as a lid and the cakes are misted and fanned at least 3-5 times a day. They have been in the fc for a little over a week now and I have no pins but only a white sort of fuzz covering the cakes. The cakes are kept in a little cupboard and taken out only when misting/fanning. I use a battery headlight as a light which is turned on over night. There are a few tiny holes in the snap lock bag which are the only holes in the fc
Not too sure if these picture are useful or not but here they are

Any tips on what might be wrong with my fc or what I'm missing? Do you think this fc will work if I'm just a bit more patient?

sorry to say it looks terrible man , there will be no where near enough Fresh air exchange with just a few holes in the ziplock back the white your talking about is probably airiel mycelium wich is a sign of poor fae. id HIGHLY recommend you make yourself one of these SGFC no point putting effort into making cakes to half ass it now , there only cheap to make and well worth the effort (Y) if you cant manage that thow defnitley put a shit load more wholes in the bag and all round the milk bottle Looking good other than the FC good luck man hope it all works out

Thanks man I can't really make a new fc but I will just put some holes in the milk bottle above the perlite my only worry is that won't this mean I will be losing a lot of humidity? I read somewhere that with a bottle fc you don't need holes at all just plenty of fanning and thought this would be similar

i think you mean when people spawn to bulk and use a bottle as a mini mono tub wich has less wholes than a SGFC. the perlite needs to have wholes under and around it so air currents pass through and promote evaporation increasing humidity. i would defnitley look on making a new FC if you can thow , its like £5 for a storage box and not really difficult. what are the lights like youv got in your cupboard ? are they daylight bulbs ?

Well not exactly I did a lot of reading on the 3 litre bottle mini sgcf but maybe I got mixed up with the part about not needing holes. I'm going to keep the fcs as they are but just add plenty of holes in them I just can't see why it wouldn't work? I'm not too sure about the lights I just hang a battery LED head torch in there.

a cake in a bottle should get all the humidity it needs but they also like some passive/constant fae so holes are a good thing, you can just poke them on the sides and should be fine, i've fruited without a fruiting chamber for single cakes plenty of times using some bubble wrap or wutever to cover it

just so you know fresh air exchange is more important than humidity. they both are important but with out good FAE you will be waiting a long time for pins

Sorry about the bump but I still have no pins and am in desperate need of some advice I really don't want to waste my only grow! I now have plenty of holes all through the fcs and all I have now are the tiniest white dots on my cakes about the size of bread crumbs other than that nothing's changed any advice at all?

those little dots should turn into pins. they start of little dots then the dots kind of double up and look like little snow men shortly after that the heads will turn brown and those are your pins. just make sure you are giving them enough fresh air.

Didn't want to start a new thread so thought I would post here and thanks everyone for all the help so far
Now that I finally have pins I have a slight worry that the plastic bag being the walls of my little FCs will stunt the growth of my mushrooms as they get bigger. Do you guys think that when the mushrooms grow and start to grow against the bag they will stop growing or will they simply push against it and keep growing like normal? Any help would be appreciated thanks

they will push up against it. shouldnt be too bad. just make sure their light source is as directly above them as possible.
