Will do! One thing that is annoying is I have to run a heater ever so often because unfortunately it keeps snowing on and off and my stupid windows are so thin lol

well i have quite the opposite problem. though i do live in a place that gets moderately cold, my house maintains about 80 degrees even on the coldest of days. it's a struggle just to keep my house cool enough for my mycelium to colonize

if your windows are thin, and they keep letting in cold air, you can take off the trim, usually held on with only air nails....you can probably take it off with a butterknife. Take some poly (clear plastic) or even a clear garbage bag, and cut it to the size of your window. Duct tape around the perimeter of the bag, and put it up on the window, then replace the trim. The duct tape keeps the plastic from tearing when the wind picks up. Keeps all the draft out, and still lets the light in.
It will def help stabilize your temps

Get a cool mist humidifier. They're like $25 at wallyworld. You could probably take it back later too. Do you have holes under your perlite line? Those are the most important. Was your perlite soaked before you put it in there? Seems stupid but I've seen people miss more obvious stuff. That hot plate may be drying out your room as much as the boiling water is humidifying it.

The water helps greatly. Wallyworld has a few that are 30$ but I can't afford it yeah i do im wondering if its a good idea to dump out all the perlite re soak it and put it back in, would that be ok? I have a feeling some of the bottom is clogged even though i tried to do my best to unclog it.
Heres some more pics the first and second are the same cake. I hate the bruising it looks like contam. every time i see it but pins and im 90% sure it's just bruising since I was misting to hard and directly for awhile.

LOL!!! Where i'm from, everyone does it, it gets so cold here you'd freeze if you didn't.
My perlite was dry for the first few inches, so last night i took my cakes out, ran the shower into it, let it drain and put the cakes back in. The humidity was up this morning when i woke up....might work for ya

You could also set them in lids with moist verm in the bottom. I've seen people do that. I'm having a humidity issue myself, but trying to take care of it before I actually birth anything. My RH in my room never goes over 47 even with a cool mist going 24/7. Its probably ok there but id like it in the high 50s.
Instead of resoaking your perlite... Just mist it a lot? Make sure there's not any standing water on the bottom though. And you can mist those cakes quite a bit when there's no pins or mushies. They will soak the water up and use it.

The I want to resoak it all is to remove the small bits at the bottom blocking a few holes

Also, once the cakes are colonized and owned by the mycelium, it would be hard for contaminates to take over. Not that I advocate showering with your cakes, but if they are colonized and consolidated, it shouldn't matter how dirty the bathroom is.
Out of curiosity of what may happen, I stuck this cake in a plant in my kitchen. No fruiting Chamber... just sprinkled a little tap water on it a few times a day.

Sweet. Makes sense though. They dont grow in AN SGFT in nature. wonder how many flushes you can get with constant watering. (maybe permanently?)
