I would not eat them.

They do appear to be an inactive Gym sp.

Taste one, just a nibble, I bet you it is the most bitter thing you have ever tasted.

Best way is to study your subjected species and their look-a-likes, and base
your hunting upon all their important features, including the minute ones.

Try aiming at different species, active and not. Use mushroomobserver.org,
mushroomexpert.com, and other trusted online resources - and not the least
buy a good up-to-date field guide covering your general region.

Train your hunting and identification skills - hands-on experience is the
best way.

Always post your finds here for identification. And read through all the
interesting threads. It can be interesting as well as humorous.

And also remember to nurture what geekishness you might possess.

Active gymns will bruise a blue/green most of the time. More green than blue, IMO. Those might be Gymnopilus penetrans, which are inactive. I've got hundreds of awesome pics of these.they completely took over my active Gymn spot once it started getting colder....might wanna remember that spot for the warmer months. Where are you located by the way OP?

I agree with suchen. (For whatever worth that is lol) but clearer pictures would help nail the species, possibly. Cool finds tho
