Terrarium care when you're out of town

Hello Folks, I'm a noobie p. cubensis grower, but thanks mostly to this site, I am doing well so far. I inoculated 14 pint jars with verm/rye flour, brown rice and verm, and brown rice, verm, quinoa and flax seed. Oddly enough the verm/flour mix, by far, is the slowest to colonize. But I didn't get any contamination. Go figure, follow the directions and things work!
I should be ready to move ahead next week and put them in a "shotgun terrarium" which I am building today.
But I just thought of one potentially serious problem. I live all week in one town, but come home Friday and Saturday every week. It never dawned on me that a terrarium requires 7-day care.
Is there any work-around here? There's got to be some way to keep the humidity up and keep things moving even if you have to go away for 2 days. I leave town at about 7pm on Friday, and return around noon on Sunday.
Thanks for any help, and thanks for all the sage wisdom on this site!
Merry X-mas!

i had the exact same problem except i had to leave town for a week just as pinning started. i just bought a fish tank air pump and ran the hose of it through one of the holes in the terrarium to provide constant FAE but while the same time not dropping humidity too much because the airflow is so low so its not like having a fan running. i just made sure the pearlite was as wet as i could get it before i left, i already had my light on a timer and i think i may have put the pump on a timer so it wasn't running constantly (something like a few hours a day). i came home to a full harvest although the caps had opened a little more than i would have liked, i prob missed the optimal harvest time by a day. but it was still far from a total loss.

That's a good idea--just a gentle low-flow of fresh air.
I wonder if I could run air through a bubbler and then into the terrarium so it would be fresh air with 100% humidity? I'm just a little concerned as the humidity around here is extremely low in the winter.
But I like the air pump idea. I could put it on a cheapo timer, and have it run for an hour a couple times a day to give the box a couple of air changes. It only has to keep things alive for less than 2 days, so it shouldn't be THAT difficult.

Adding air pumps to a SGFC is a good way to dry out the cakes.

i was using trays and its only a last ditch effort at saving your harvest. its either that or let them sit with zero FAE stagnating for as lond as you are away. a fan will dry your shit out in no time but the pump def isn't nearly as bad.
i like the idea of running the pump through a bubbler. my only concern would be the water stagnating and getting contaminated with bacteria and shit if you dont change it regularly

I was thinking some more, and I also have some of those "water crystals" that some people use for house-plant mixes. They are these clear polymer beads that expand to many times their size when you soak them in water, and shrink back down when they give the water back.
Maybe instead of going through a bubbler, I could just blow the air over a pan of these beads. That way there would be no standing water anywhere, and a lower chance of the bubbler water turning to funk on you. Like I said--it would only be for a couple days a week so it wouldn't be sitting there fermenting for weeks at a time.
I don't really have anyone I trust to keep an eye on things. It seems to me the first step towards getting yourself in trouble is shooting off your mouth! I'd much prefer to keep this project 100% solo, if you know what I mean.

Since when does a SGFC get zero FAE?
I thought a SGFC got constant FAE, which lead to constant evaporation....which means if anything the worry should be about misting them, not giving them FAE....the chamber is designed to get constant FAE.

Moving water cannot be stagnant by definition.
You sound confused.
