What to do with bent needles?
    #19307629 - 12/21/13 11:47 AM (10 years, 2 months ago)

It's frustrating to miss the hole in a jar lid and bend a needle, it makes it a pain in the ass to use. And as far as I know there's no good way to fix it.

I tried getting it pretty hot and bending but that was a bad idea.

Anybody else dealt with this before?

haha, thought this might come up. Its because all I've ever used is polyfil for filters. Big wads of that and slightly too small of holes in the lids combined.

I'm in the process of making new better lids though. Got self healing ports and SFD's. So this won't really be a problem anymore soon.

Hammer and anvil?

And thus begins the  reverse-fusing of our one-dimentional understanding, and adds ever-expanding perspectives, in depth and number; splitting our perception, and in so doing, seemingly irrationally, creates yet more one-ness, with all that ever was, is and will ever be, streching across the infinite, inunderstood concept of everything, percievable and not.

Search for "Friendly-felt" it's allot cheaper, local, and effective. I double mine up. Us quarter size.

I use shotty needles for spotting on TLC plates...

I had that happen a few times. I just used a pair of pliers to straiten it out.

ha yeah I should try that. Seems obvious now.

Or like someone else said, just get new ones. They don't cost that much.

True, but I'm stingy, and ordering online is a pain. If I don't have to pay the $10,  I'm not going to. Haha.

I made one straight with pliers just an hour ago.  It went right through the rtv port, no problems.
