i agree with the article that it would diminish the importance of the regular season.

I got really high last night and thought about this for awhile.
Ya the playoff system isn’t perfect but i don’t think there is anyway you could fix it. It would be stupid to do away with divisional winners, some of the best playoff games in recent memory come from the 8-8 division winner beating the 11-5 wildcard. I guess i kind of agree with you that the teams with the best record should get home field though. Its pretty stupid that a top 5 record in the league can end up in a wildcard IMO.
I can kinda see the logic though, they are really trying to push division rivalries, which i don’t necessarily disagree with. It just seems really wrong to me that the chiefs won’t get a home game. Its wrong to the fans too.
My biggest problem with the NFL is their post season format. I think the NBA has it down to a science. Pre-Determined Super Bowl site is the stupidest shit ever. I think it should either be like baseball or the NBA

But those sports have multiple games so they can play at both teams home field/court. Since football only has one Superbowl game, I think a predetermined stadium is the only way to go. Unless they change the Superbowl to best of 3 games.. That would be kinda cool an weird.

Ya i know that, but the Super Bowl should go to the team with the best record. The key to winning a Super Bowl as is, is staying healthy and getting hot. In the regular season you just need to do good enough to get to the playoffs, and the Super Bowl is just too damn commercial. Imagine how much more epic it would be if someone had to go into Seattle to win a Superbowl. Tickets are too fucking expensive as well if they are going to do the predetermined thing do it at a stadium that can hold 100k, as is the atmosphere is weak.
Football would be cool if they did it like European Soccer cups. 2 games if its a tie winner on aggregate score, football is too taxing on your body though to do that.
I just don’t like the Super Bowl at all. It doesn’t even feel like its about football anymore. If my team made it obviously i would like it a lot more but i just get drunk at a party and hit on drunk girls while football and stupid commercials are a back drop. Maybe i just need better sports watching friends. Which is beyond fucked because i fucking love football, easily my favorite sport but i just don’t dig the biggest game
Infact thinking about it the best Super Bowl I’ve seen was the first one the pats won where viniteri hit that badass kick. Besides that Last year, 18-1 and Steelers/Cards are the only ones that have significant memories. Most the games just really aren’t that good and the halftime is like 8 hours long. But now I’m getting on a tangent because I’m high

You're right, the Superbowl is usually pretty lame. Just the fact that they have a week off before hand is annoying because you have to hear it get hyped up for 2 weeks. Then game time comes and it's nothing but annoying ass commercials and shitty half time music, and a little football squeezed in.
The playoffs are generally much more exciting than the Superbowl.

I know he's injured, but what do you guys think the future holds for Jake Locker? I played against him in the WA State H.S. football tournament and he almost single handedly beat our team (but didn't.) Also played against Johnathon Stewert but that's another story.
I always thought Jake had a bright future ahead of him, but now I'm uncertain. Its sad watching injuries plague such a good talent and good guy

Man Colts are destroying the Chiefs and Denver is barely surviving the worst team in the NFL. Not looking good for my picks, Colts and Bengals will probably be the teams to beat in te AFC playoffs. Wish the Ravens game was on TV here, really wanted to see that one.

I didn't think i would ever say it, but I am starting to doubt Sean payton. He has failed to evolve his gameplan, or even plan for certain teams. I think his hubris is fucking with his coaching ability. i still think he is a great coach... looking at mere talent depth and ability, the saints aren't even a .500 team. with such a weak O line and hardly any secondary talent, the fact that they are in the playoffs is a testament to how good SP is, but he needs to realize that when shit isn't working, try something else, not double down on your bad idea.

I would not be worried about Dalton doing anything at all in the postseason.

What's your point?
Huge defensive game going on. The main ref sounds like he doesn't even know what he's doing

Which was most certainly true seeing that last interception call
