Anybody know of any good forums/message boards for musicians?
Sorta like FMBM. Anyway...
I'm trying to make sounds with this thing....its got six strings and a noise box and I THINK it's called a gut tar or get tar or something well it sounds like shit and I could use advice and I mean a ton of it. I've successfully made it sound similar to a stuck hog but I'm going for something a little more subtle.

not really. the internet (as you can see) is only mainly concerned with joking and politics.
oh and day to day useless pathetic and/or irreverent events.
actual THINGs... well videos games, sure... kite making... yep, got one for that too...
music making... shit outta luck. all of them are filled with sniveling jokers, from what i've seen.

I sure do. I made a new forum just the other day, I remember it clear as august. It must have been recently, as if it could have happened earlier today that I made it, but I wasn't entirely sure.
I knew my brother just made a forum like that a week ago but I wasn't sure if he would have made one. He said it was a definite possibility that he would check on, perhaps check on more than once. As if going back to check if he should have made one or not. But once someone persuades him to shut down his old site he agrees without hesitation. There were no signs that would indicate that he might turn around and attempt to resist to something that tangled him up o npurpose, as if it was made to entangle you so yo ucannot escape. For if you try to escape you would be caught.
Well this forum was voted as the most prestigious rock forum ever created. The people behind the project were some of the most extraordinary people in the entire world, researchers & game designers that have been living in Tokyo for 30 years assembling new designs for enhancing former projects which might have faded a bit over time.
This forum has many famous rockers that add their own input into conversations, these are rockers that recorded music while browsing that very forum. They would make music while posting, as if they discovered a new method to collect musical power while doing the opposite of music. I sent a message asking my friend if they wanted to take a look at my website before it was hosted online, giving them a preview of it before it officially opens for the public. I showed my friends the site.
They came over last weekend and we hung out for awhile. We spent atleast 3 hours together and we never left each others sides. We were always so close, as if we could feel each others breath as we spoke. Without actually speaking towards you so you feel as if you are receiving an indirect comment that may fall either way. It the south or the East, never knowing exactly which one it would normally fall on. They said the design foro the site was fabulous, that they never seen a better design before. They said they all wanted it. I couldn't let them have it. I had to keep parts of it hidden from them. It was a rule I'm unfortunately faced to deal with, imposed with strict observation & self control constantly intact. For we might need to teach discipline to those who must practice self control. Sometimes we don' tcontrol ourselves and let something else force us against our will to abandon that control, as if you officially realizing you lostcontrol wasn't something that ought to be brought up eh cowboy? I know what cowboy I'm talking about too, he was here just the other day, rode on a horse & got off and had some mail for me, and I was surprised to see him leave his horse just to give me something. I offered him my compliments to his service for he was kind obliging and of benevolent intention thus was respected all around the community. People would hold tributes dedicate to his great achievements & his success in life, celebrating him as if he was the greatest thing ever made. He never let it get to his head.

Eh, I've seen that one. I don't like the set up and it's not as open to variety as I'd like. I've searched and really can't find a forum thats good and the one or two thg I found were really short of varieties of musicians and music and instruments. I'm looking for knowledge in a different package.
I almost joined an the session because I like Irish folk music but the guys there are also kind of in a box. I want to find a forum that explores creative ideas and doesn't get stuck in this rock or country or rap or electronic or classical mode but explores music in its entirety.
It's like most musicians are just trying to play copy cat.

They don't offend me but they're off putting and they derail the thread sort of like the petty comments that I've you seen leave around the forums lately such as the "butt hurt remark" which is childish and has nothing to do with what the thread is about. You spew forth about how the Internet is chock full of irrelevant BULL SHIT and then not ONLY do you defend the cause of it (guys like him) but you begin trying to entice me into a game of flames whcih is ultimately what your first post was so against. Stop posting if all you can type is ignorant crap.
Oh and pop music may have been around for hundreds of years but the word pop refers to modern pop. Yeah, I saw that retarded post as well.

Oh and pop music may have been around for hundreds of years but the word pop refers to modern pop. Yeah, I saw that retarded post as well.
Now kindly fuck off unless you have something worth saying, please.
did i entice you; seems you're quite prevalent to the "flame game" all by yourself, chum.
plus, you also don't have to read what i post either... you have an ignore option for that. my posts in this thread have been nothing but trying to be helpful for you.
PS: pop music is pop music is pop music. i was informing you of the fact that pop music has been around longer then Rock music has and has been called pop since the 40's before Rock was even a thing, so Rock hasn't been "sullied" by anything other then what might have came after it. you were wrong, and i clarified that fact.
PPS: it's people like you (who can't follow a conversation, can't ignore a post he/she doesn't like, can't post about any topic except one fuckin' excerpt of what you'd usually grovel about ect...) that make the internet a festering pile of crap. also trolls, but lets not get into that.
the only thing that is IRRELEVANT is posting on the internet like it's your own personal blog, and expecting people to tip toe around as not to disturb you.
which happens alot with whiny babies.
PPPS: i didn't think the phrase "butthurt" would arse you so much, especially being used out of context.
guess you just been waiting to tell me how i should "stop telling people how irrelevant they are"... sad thing is, when i actually make these "petty" comments, it's towards another petty comment.
people here who have actually had a conversation with me, know that i'm not just a one note pony... just so happens there are alot of petty and/or stupid comments around here to be gawked at by me. not my fault the internet is dumbshit fucktarded.
you need to communicate more, Greymorph. make more music threads with... like music in it, stuff you like, stuff you've made.
that one in the Media forum was good. that's your meal ticket, dude.
oh yeah, and i already answered your question in this thread first post in. all music forums are gay, and you won't find one you like... guess you're more like me then you might think.
i like that in a person.
PPPPS: oy the pop remark wasn't even in reference to this thread... yikes such warrantless butthurtage. i try and offer him an opinion, he doesn't like it hence "it's a retarded comment".
well, i see your talking to musicians about music isn't going to come along very far... you should go to one of those forums for pretentious music farts that you hate, because you might actually fit in there. you'll talk tunings and modes and all sorts of good music talk, and actually make no innovation in what you play, because you ask for opinions on stuff you don't know, then get mad when you get told that you don't know it. might as well do with all the modes you're not writing in and all the key changes you "needlessly make"; cause that's what happens on those forums.
oh and lots of electric guitar... ALOT. you'd probably like it.

looks pretty classy. lots of tech talk, more then i usually have seen on the boards i've visited.
plus, the songwriting forum is an interesting (and obvious) idea that i haven't seen to much of either.

I'm not looking for just guitar talk...
I mean yes, I play guitar but I'm looking for a more general and broad group of musicians to chat with for input and advice in musical theory and just in sharing ideas ect.
Guitar forums can be found all over and guitarists in general are not the most knowledgable if you know what I mean, the guitars popularity has kinda worked against it.

you found it... it's called the shroomery.
enjoy your stay.
BTW, i completely agree with your guitar being too popular for it's own good theory. i think it's a pretty redundant topic for discussion, that gets opted for more so then well... ANYTHING else really, sorta like Electronica/Dance music and Hip-Hop music is now, too.
you should check out my Avant Garde music thread and Jazz thread; for some cool music. oh wait... maybe not. oh well, make a folk music thread, we dont have one of those yet.

I just ignore the ones that didn't fully read my question.
If you're going to give advice then at least wait until you know what the question is.
PS. Your advice wasn't what I'm looking for and that's why I ignored it.

dude, just go to any musicians forum, they need a rough and tumble pissy person to whip them back into their former assholish glory days.
and you are not just some douchy guitar God wanna-be either, Greymorph, so you can actually be better then most of these douches... and youll fit right in too!

Hello OP if you want to talk about guitar and music theory in general you can message me anything, I play sax and guitar at a nice music school in Boston you may have heard of but I would love to help you get on your way making some music come out of that thing!
