No, no they aren't.  Sorry. :shrug: 
They smell like maple syrup, curry, and caramel. When I collected them it started raining and the paper bag I had fell apart.  So I put them in my hat.  My hat smelled for more then half a year.

Its all good :cool:  They just get better as they dry and age.  I don't do anything other then dry them well and put them up in a jar.  Made a simple syrup with them the first time.  Tasted great.  Want to bake some up for the holiday.
