what are your honest thoughts on the police?

I view them as necessary and just avoid all contact I can with them.
I really don't get people who give the cops a hard time and then bitch and complain about the cops fucking them over.. Guess what? Cops are human beings too, someone pushed your buttons you'd push back.. Well they do as well. So you go fucking with the cops, you pretty much deserve what happens next.

You avoid them? Please tell? You don't drive anywhere? They don't have dui check points where you live? Being on a drug website I can assume you break the law....you know breaking the law attracts cops right? You don't avoid police by posting on the shroomery lol.......
Most people "fucking with police" are usually being fucked with first. Traffic stop. House raid. Unlawful arrest. Rights violated.
We are all individual human beings, what gives any fuck the right to control another fuck?
Police officers should be held at the highest standards when it comes to the law. If they break it they should be dealt with beyond accordingly. No examples should be made of joe shmos. They should use police officers who take the badge too far as prime examples of what our justice system holds in store for you.
Fuck the police. Fuck this thread too. That is all.

No I avoid them just like I said. I don't go causing scenes that attract cops and no we don't have DUI check points. I have to go out of my way to get a cop on my ass which I don't do. Doing something illegal doesn't necessarily attract cops, that's just stupid. It only attracts cops if you're stupid and do illegal shit in front of them. Or you know, selling to the wrong people who in turn tell the cops.
No I don't do anything illegal currently. I joined to learn to grow shrooms, I grew shrooms, I don't anymore. I don't use drugs because I'm supposed to be getting a job that does hair testing, have been clean for months now.
I'm not saying you have to let the cops violate your rights.. I'm saying the people who treat cop confrontations like a game where the goal is to piss them off as much as possible without actually breaking the law. Those people are stupid.
We need laws and people to enforce those laws. Most people who act as if the world would be better off without cops would be pissing in their fucking pants in a world without cops.. Well that or would have died long ago to some psychopath who wanted to play a game of rape and torture with them.

Maybe 2/10 are genuinely good people who want to help their community and take the job out of a desire to protect and serve.
7/10 are power hungry opportunists. Social psychopaths, bullies who lack the intellect for other work but don't want to go to jail, kids who were bullied and are trying the other side out for a change, adrenaline junkies, criminal minds who were smart enough to choose the side that really takes care of it's own. Lots of chips on shoulders.
1/10 are people using the position as a career stepping stone.
I am not glad when they die. I am genuinely glad that 3/10 of them exist. I believe that if the war on drugs were ended it would dissuade large numbers of the 7/10 from joining, and that many of them would be forced to find other work. The ones that did remain would have their powers largely reduced. In that event I would be substantially more open to knowing the local police and seeing them as a positive part of the community. Now I see them as mainly a liability in any given situation.

Ending the war on drugs is not going to stop police brutality, racism held strong by a lot of law enforcement in bigger cities, abuse of power, corruption, or anything else that's wrong with the police force.
That argument is great to hear " Legalize drugs, everyone will be so peaceful ".....face reality.....
You take the cops power to arrest over drugs away....they aren't going to forget about the power they crave. The same cops planting drugs in your pocket, or kicking a black man, or fingerfucking some girl during a frisk....ARE STILL GOING TO DO THOSE THINGS IF YOU CAN LEGALLY SMOKE CRACK. Sorry, but that's reality.
And it must be nice to not have DUI checkpoints, and think that doing drugs out in the open is the only way to get caught.....but where I live cops do knock and talks, illegal search and seizures, illegal stops, dui checkpoints, car inspection check points, hell most grocery stores around me have a cop there all night every night....you can't avoid them....we as people have every right to stand up and fight back against tyranny, gangs, and oppression. FUCK COPS, at least a majority of the ones currently holding that position.....it's an abused position nationwide. Cops need more training....more school....more life experience. You shouldn't give a drunk hick with a 6 week training course a pistol and hand cuffs.

I'm glad we agree that it's a large, national problem, I think many people feel this way and that tells you that things are definitely not the way they should be. More training would be a good thing too, but I think a large part of the problem is the type of person that having gun-wielding authority appeals to. Policing is viewed almost entirely as a position of authority rather than servitude in modern society, which was not the originally intended role.
I didn't say or imply that ending the war on drugs would stop any of those things, though. I said it would likely reduce the number of those cops being employed, which is accurate, and for those remaining it will limit much of their ability to do those things, though definitely not all of it. Drugs offer a convenient way for police to fuck with you, and without that they will have a harder time establishing probable cause and enforcing shit like Stop and Frisk.
I have never encountered a DUI checkpoint in my area before, but I have spoken with my attorney about how to handle them if I ever do. If the cops illegally search me I know the law well enough to see my payday coming and not get emotional. Do you live in the US? NY?

Theres a rare few who are ok just doing there job and want to go home at the end of their shift like the rest of us. Then you got the assholes who think they rule the town. Ive been pulled over a number of times and most of the time just a warning and a "have a good night". One time this cop kept asking me if i had anything in my car i didnt want him to know about. Said no and he kept pushing me and pushing me. I kept saying no and after 10 minutes he let me go. My son accidentally wrecked his bike into this ladies car and the cops came to question him and he told his side of the story and the cops like "want to try that again? I seen the paint on your bike" I pulled his bike out and pointed out how there was no paint marks on the bike. He was an asshole who liked to scare little kids..

Depends on the cops. IME the dirtier the place, the dirtier the cops. Local county police in the area are good guys and will do a lot to help you instead of fuck you over. Not an hour away, the city cops are so fucking dirty, they've literally killed people in holding cells and made it look like suicide. Most of the time cops hands are tied with what to do, but there's always a handful that are out to get ya.

That's the problem with cops, there is almost no accountability. A bad cop can get away with murder (literally) and the state just pays off the victims family or covers it up while the asshole keeps his job and gets a slap on the wrist at most.

fuck the police is my opinion. They are the most accessible symbol of legislation here in the US, and I have issues with many of the laws, they enforce them (with awful methods) so fuck em.
The role the police are meant to play (maintaining reasonable order/ limiting the ability of those who would interfere with that, and dare I say helping people) is necessary but I can condone very very little of what they do claiming to fulfill that role. It is my view that the current enforcement and punishment (judicial system)system is racist and meant to preserve patriarchy and duality that currently reins over the system (and overall ideology of the country).
and I have been around peeps who want(ed) to go be lil piglets themselves claiming they wanted to help people I always called bullshit and said if they wanted to help people they would be a nurse, firefighter, social worker ect. a badge and a gun does not help anyone other than those holding them and those providing them (not referring to taxpayers/ members of the community here).
while those who make up the piggery are all unique different individuals and such I tend to hold negative views of them because they went for a position to carry multiple weapons (and use them) with the express legal authority to harass, intimidate, extort, rob, kidnap, assault, and execute other individuals who make up the populous.
also as someone who grows shrooms they are actively opposed to my existence and freedom and so I say fuck tha police the police are(militarized) parasites who harm those forced to support them

Police are necessary, so is the government, be thankful you can still get away with it in this era, we are in a very good/strange time period. We are just becoming advanced now but the laws haven't caught up yet, we have trouble changing the gun laws because of what our founding fathers said so long ago, HA. I'm not trying to get into the gun debate but the point is you can get away with insane amounts of stuff and actualy can basically do anything you want, pretty soon police will be complete part of the government, we will have one government, possibly 2-3. You will have no purpose, the only job will be to fix the machines that run our creation, we will be known if the universe for what we help live, just like on smaller scale the little bacteria do for us.
I just made all of that up, but it starts out true, cops are needed, stop being dumbassed and don't et yorselves in trouble, when you're smart there are no laws, only certain situations where you can't do things.

You're assuming everyone is as much of a failure as you, other people in the world have meaning, they have wives and children, VALUABLE possessions. Unlike yourself most likely I assume. When THAT person get robbed, they call the police, in you're case, you're putting they're offensive nature on drugs (which is only one aspect of their nature by the way) and putting that over not just everything else they're capable of but deeming them useless to the whole population.
Let me ask you this, if all drugs were legal, what issue would you have with police? Also, while naming reasons they're useless, don't even think just grab the common sense things off the top of your head that they are capable of doing, such as returning stolen goods (attempt to, that's all you can ask for, its not a perfect world) save you from an attack depending their distance and somewhat the cop himself although they are times and taking too long would be recorded (not a perfect world) and things like that.
You sound unintelligent and ignorant to common sense and how normal people think, or that other people aren't as concerned about drugs as they are with success and living a normal life. Now you can come back with how you're productive and normal and drugs don't make a difference with all that, and you're right, I'm just going with how unintelligent you must be for not being able to think of one use for police and use my better judgement and say no, you are not a person capable of that.

Actually you'r assuming I do not have valuable possessions, which I do. You are also assuming the reason I dislike them has to do with drugs, which is only part of the reason. Cops are scumbags, If someone breaks into my house I would never call a cop, I would get out my gun of choice and deal with it myself. If you call a cop about a robbery I bet you would end up losing more items than were stolen by the burglar. If I am not home yes I could see calling the police to do a lame ass job on forensics which I could do myself. If all drugs were legal I would still highly dislike them for enforcing the unconstitutional laws we have now days in america. I would dislike the fact that many children get thrown on the ground or slammed against cop cars for being out after 10pm which is ridiculous. I o dislike that you get a ticket for walking across the street. I would hate them waisting an hour of my time for walking on grass near a sidewalk that technically your not supposed to walk on. I would dislike them breaking the laws and getting away with it. I could go on and on and on about why I dislike them.
Personally I have not once in my entire life seen a cop do something that helped some one. I have however seen cops beat up innocent people, destroy private property, and beat up homeless people. I remember one time I was at the beach and a normal guy was laying down without a towel, because of this 3 cops came up and poked him with a stick or something. They then proceeded to waist about 20 minutes of his time, I assume they thought he passed out drunk but that is just stupid to assume. I also highly dislike the fact that most cops are incapable of talking in a civilized manner and they feel the need to yell at you constantly.
I can think of uses for police the only problem is they do not do useful things in reality most of the time. Also only an unintelligent person does not carry a gun if they legally can. You should not rely on other people to help you in a time of need. Not all cops are bad people, but for the most part they are. I remember all the people in highschool that became cops they type of people were: burnouts, bullies, kids who got bullied, people who wanted to beat people up and not get in trouble, and people who wanted to be above the law.

I am not glad when they die and don't wish them harm mostly.
I think most of them are assholes. Most don't have any common sense. They would give some one a ticket just to be an ass for example if there car registration expired. Come go catch a real criminal that hurts someone that did not deserve it. Instead it seems they drive around half the day looking to give out stupid tickets to people that are not really criminals. Heck if some ones house around here got broken into they would right a report but not take fingerprints. That would take up to much of their time. They would rather give some one a ticket for just smoking something that was illegal on paper and was not doing any harm, leave them be and go catch a real bad guy.
Are you glad when they die? Do you despise them and wish them nothing but harm?
Or do you not care that they have to enforce drug laws?
what are your honest thoughts on the police?

I have a bunch of mixed feelings. On one hand I follow pages like Cop Block and Filming Cops. Every single day they post stories of horrible evil sickening things (that they almost always get away with.) It makes me distrust the police. How many of them are like that? How many of them are just psychopaths looking to pick on people? I would say I fear the police. I lived in the most dangerous city in the US in 2012. I was always more nervous walking past police than walking past groups of shady people.
On the other hand I have met a handful of police who seemed like good people. I'm really torn between these two feelings usually. I'm either checking my rear view so nervously I could crash after I pass a cop, or I'm imagining that it's probably a cool guy who knows I'm just headed home from work and won't harass me.
The only time I would be happy about cops dying is if I knew they did something horrible.

It's great when cops give you a hand, and it's a very special experience to talk to a person who's committed, mind and body, to lofty ideals of justice and fairness.
Unfortunately, that doesn't describe a lot of cops or cop encounters. It's a line of work that is very seductive to exactly the type of people who shouldn't be police: insecure bullies and power addicts who enjoy the opportunity to push people around with impunity. They can be very menacing.
I have much more respect for the Sheriff's department than unelected law enforcement, however. If a community is going to be policed in an organized fashion by a paramilitary force then it should be consensual and democratic. Otherwise, it more resembles a military occupation. It's extremely frustrating to live in a community where the police routinely and flagrantly violate ethics and behave as if they are above the law, because there is simply nothing anybody can do about it. They are basically a small army, taking tribute, regulating people's private lives, and there's nothing you can do about it. For whatever good they are able to do, police precincts are not run in a transparent or democratic way, and I take serious issue with that. I live near Oakland and while there's a legitimate need for strong law enforcement in that city, the surrounding areas are massively over-policed by their own precincts, and the police in Oakland itself are tainted with shooting after shooting of defenseless citizens by triggerhappy cops. And this is a wild guess, but I think San Francisco's cops running drugs from the evidence locker probably do bigger business than the dealers and smugglers whose drugs they confiscate. It's unbelievable to me that the voters have literally no way to deal with these problems: all we can do is complain loudly and hope that somebody, somewhere does the right fucking thing and fires some of these guys even if it's kind of a headache. And it's not going to get better, because enough people who aren't targeted don't notice that there's a problem.
