A couple grand is nowhere near enough IMO, especially if you don't have a job. I wouldn't think about it with less than $6000. Two grand will last MAYBE one month.

Thanks for the depressing morning guys. My fathers been saying it for years, our generation is fucked. And hologram, your story made that clear. Especially to me a 22 year old male. And I dont mean morally or work ethic. We're told go to college and you won't be fucked" okay cool, you got a degree, guess what, still no jobs... This country isnt what it was 35 years ago. He's made it very clear.
Kinda just makes me wanna learn agriculture and animal husbandry and dip of the grid and say fuck everyone else. Got a good work ethic, farm, eat whole food and grow bud, yeeeeah

i never realized how many people are on the streets, like we have no where to go and there really ISNT any public space anymore. cops will kick u out of your sleep and tell u to walk out into a storm if ur under shelter in like a park or something.
This is so true and really a problem people don't tend to realize until they face it themselves. Nothing is worse than showing up in a new town tired and hungry and they won't even let you sit in the fucking dirt without getting hassled by cops.
Living on the streets will make you old quick. Hope you can work things out Holo.

me and my girl are trying to move from NY to CO sometime next year once we each have a reasonable amount of cash saved up (5-10 grand each) to get ourselves on our feet.
i have a college degree in history but not much valuable work experience except my current bookkeeping job which i will be able to keep an work from home, but i will sit need to find another job. i think i will be able to keep myself afloat however.
my girl does not have a college degree but she has experience working in the medical field as a radiology technician, extenisive food service experience and has several small buisness ideas like selling her handmade knit hats on etsy or making organic dog treats to sell locally as she is a great cook.
i think with our determination and experience is what matters most, my college degree hasn't done shit for me in the year i've had it.

I know a few people who just keep moving around the country trying to find somewhere to settle into. but they always move with no place to stay and hardly any money and it just never works out for them.
I think the best way to do it is have something lined up for when you get there; a place to stay, job, etc so you don't end up arriving in town and have absolutely no idea where to go or what to do. I couldn't imagine doing that. I understand some people are forced to leave due to circumstances and they just have to get away from their environment and start somewhere new, but it must be so hard to just go somewhere and try to build a life from nothing.
