I recently got shredded root bark in the mail cause the site I ordered from didn't have powdered so I wanted to know if there is a significant different when extracting or brewing shredded vs powdered bark. and if so, what are good ways to powder it myself?

I'm interested in this as well, I just got some powdered. I think people usually prefer shredded but I'm not sure on why that is.

I was under the impression people prefer powdered. there are two reasons why I can think of shredded to be better and they are 1) easier to filter, 2) less oxidation? I don't know if oxidation is even an issue in this case.

You're making tea? In that case shredded is easier to filter and contain, but powdered means less pulls.
If you're doing an extraction powdered is a must. The more surface area reacting with the solvent the better.

I'm asking for both. but yeah that's the answer I expected but I just saw nature Boy's tek and he usually seems to know what he's doing and says to use shredded but most other teks say powdered. what's an efficient way to powder it in any case?
nature Boy's tek - www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/10089233/fpart/1
the original tek I was planning on following - wiki.dmt-nexus.me/Cyb's_Hybrid_ATB_'Salt'_Tek

I would probably trust NB on that. Lots of detail, and he knows his shit.

Bullshit. Different chemicals have different levels of sensitivity to oxidation. Some stuff isn't affected by oxidation at all.

thanks for clearing that up although I clearly said I don't know if it does or doesn't affect it hence the question mark.

Shredded will be fine if you don't have some sort of grinder. Just let it sit about 24 hours in between pulls and be sure to shake it up.
