it will most likely only dry out about a half inch on the bottom of the jars. what are you using for spawn?

In my experience, heating pads only help cultivate contams.  If you are trying to dry out some of the moisture from the bottom of your jars, I am interested to see how this turns out.  Is this a heating pad for seedlings?  I would only leave it on for maybe an hour and see how its working. I'd also put a towel or a thick blanket between the pad and the jars but that's just me.

Im using rye seed jars, but i think they are about to dry out, should i add some water/destilled water?
The contamination chance will rise, but better than losing my spawns.

:whathesaid:

Chances are it will get too hot

If it doesn't get to 100% before drying out you have a problem anyway. Either in grain prep or sterility.
