Great assortment of freaks everyone. I have lost a couple of freaks in the last year or so. Some I have managed to save pieces of and graft them but others I have lost totally.
Here are a few more of mine. TBM

Bidgesii Bruce and Trichocereus knuthianus ( not realy a freak but unusual )

What I like to call the chicken. It is one cool plant as it has kept adding to its shape.

I will be back with more a bit later.

Amazing photos as always M_H. I believe your NOID is a notocactus scopa crest. About 90% sure but of course I could always be wrong.

Thanks KGB. It is good to see you back.
This is one of my grafts from a couple of seasons ago. It was very slow growing to start with and looked relatively normal with some pale spots. It started to show more variegation in its second year and then it got smashed by mites along with so many of my cacti especially all of my Loph grafts. The only positive that came out of the experience was this graft started to pup. I have been waiting for the pups to get big enough to be grafted onto Trich stock. I will start grafting the pups in the next few weeks.

I found this at our local cacti association stall and at this point I still haven't been able to ID it. It looks a bit Fredish but then not really. The stock rotted at the graft joint recently but luckily I noticed it before it got right into the scion so I cut all of the pups of and grafted them onto Trich stock and I am trying to root the main body.

One of the new grafts

Nice plant Corporal is it growing in full sun? We have trouble finding that Fred form down here the one that I posted is the more common one for some reason.
The Astrophytum in my previous post is a myriostigma lotusland it used to be a nice big graft but it was another one that rotted on the graft union and so I had to chop it up and they are the only surviving pieces. Here is what it was like originally

I hope the gentleman I purchased it from is still around. I should really stop in after the holiday. I believe it was full sun greenhouse grown when I received it. It was pink when I got it. If he is still in business I'll pick up some more. I like the crested form. Never really seen that either.

I have noticed the ones that are grown in more shade tend to be more green but I think the different forms can show more pink. They can be tricky to get the watering right. I was very careful with mine early on its in a very free draining mix as I had heard of a lot of people loosing them to rot. But since I have had mine I have found if you get the watering right and in the right mix they will put on good growth( like a lot of rot prone cacti ) Do you treat yours much different to your other cacti? I just realized I missed these two

You know you've got a proper monstrose specimen when you can't even tell what species it is It almost looks like it has the body of a matucana but that thing is so freaky who knows what it ultimately is. I hope someone can properly ID it for you sometime. I'll post a few of my freaks in a little bit.

It sort of looks like a few different cacti. I can see where you are coming from with the Matucana. I had originally though it could be a slightly different form of a Mammillaria elongata forma mostruosa

Edit to add Photo Fred Yellow form

But non of them look totally right but then it is grafted which could be screwing with its true form.

After looking at those last 3 pics I think you are correct with it being a mamm. I'm guessing it hasn't flowered at all yet?

Thanks! I'll add a tentative label.
And that is some damn fine specimens you have just put up
Did that crested fruit provide many seeds?
