I can't find a heat rating on the bottle or on the internet. It says its not flammable once dried. Does anyone know how to tell if it can withstand pressure cooking?
They have a heat resistant kind that resists up to 300 degrees. That worries me a little.
the link is to the heat resistant stuff http://www.liquidnails.com/products/high-temperature-adhesive-LN201

It'd probably work, but WTF do you want to use it for?

I use loctite gasket sealant. It works really well, the tube has a roller upper on the end so its easy to apply accurately as well.

it basically is silicone. just a substitute for it.
Its all I had on hand unless I were to go buy some just for this. Which is funny because I got this while looting a crackheads house (with the landlords permission)

No, not really. I used to use it to hold my hair up when I had an 8" mohawk back in high school.
Just get a tube of silicone. It's like $3 at WalMart.

To me it sounds like it has a good chance of working, albeit difficult to work with. It depends on if you want to experiment, or use established methods. If you experiment document it!
But yeah broken record, traditionally most people use gasket sealant you find in the automotive section of a hardware store (rated for high temps - mine is blue), or silicone.
I suggest letting it cure for a week instead of just 24hrs though. Mine stays gooey for 3-4 days, but once it's dry it's on forever.

lol, I'm so dumb. Of course, it would be in the hardware department of the store I work at. I was all thinking I'd have to make a special trip.
So thank you for mentioning that and thanks to all who gave their input!!

It's inferior in that it's harder to work with. I also don't know if it'll survive the steam and pressure of a PC. It should, but IDK for sure.
Maybe try one with it and see what happens.

yeah I'm thinking I'll do that. Just try one jar and then post the results.
I'm doing a test jar anyway since I've never made good grain jars like this before. Always just done poly-fil

No, not mine anyway, it comes in a little toothpaste sized tube with a plastic nib you cut the end off of. It's normally used to seal small leaks in gaskets, rads, and pipes that get hot in a car's engine.
I find the port I choose to be the one I'm sticking the needle through has to be somewhat thick (1.5-2cm blob total), just to 'close up' after I pull the syringe out. I've had it at about 0.8cm and got contams..
If you decide to flatten out the globs to make it neat and tidy use foil and not pieces of paper like I've seen in other Teks. I found paper to leave fibrous material in whatever I'm shooting into (LCs).
Out of curiosity is this for an LC? EDIT=NVM you said grain above.
