Hydnum umbilicatum?

hi folks,
i found my first Hydnum today, which i found pretty exciting. especially in the snow! so i thought i'd share and see if anyone has any other ID ideas, but it keys out to this pretty well so far.
habitat: mixed hardwoods beech oak cherry -it was closest to a cherry
cap - burnt orange, irregular, generally convex, meaty no gills, teeth.
stipe lighter shade than cap 1x3cm
this (subjective) is one of the heaviest/dense mushrooms i've ever collected. supposed to be good eats. too bad i only have one so far

this other one i haven't researched - any ideas? start with Mycena? i didn't collect it. i figured if it had the hutzpa to fruit under these conditions, i'd leave it be.

Second mushroom looks collybioid to me. Was the stipe tough like cartilage?

First one most certainly looks like an edible hydnum. I found a nice little patch this fall. very good eats!

nice! so how did you fix em? i'll be getting 2+ inches of rain in the next day or so before the temp drops. maybe i'll get lucky and that was the first of a flush - or the last one the squirrels didn't eat
i'm thinkin' Gymnopus subnudus maybe on the second..
 then again, maybe not...

I cooked few in a soup, sautéed a few, and also made mushroom ravioli out of some.
I need to go check my patch. I find them growing along Pine.

When I found them, I only saw a few at first. It wasn't until I started moving all the fallen leaves and pine needles that I found around 2 lbs
