Where do you think there is a high concentration of aware people?

For me this site is one outlet to come in contact with people who are more interesting than the run of the mill, rather that be a (excuse the term) spiritual intelligence, logical intelligence, general willingness to open mindedness, I just want to say I appreciate everything you've taught me.

This is also what drew me to psycs in the first place, the type of people that are seriously interested in them and the personalities that go with it.

I'm hooked and need more good people in my life.

I look in the lonely, neglected places for them.

The wisest person I've ever known was a drunk.  I swear to god, between swigs this guy would spout stuff that could have come right out of the most profound Eastern mystical tract.

Beware the self-professed priests and gurus.

More often than not, they're conning you.

I've found Satsang to be a pretty cool environment, ultimately I don't think the people there are anymore aware than other people in other environments tho

"For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I Am there in their midst" That's what Satsang can be about
The common translation of Satsang is 'association or in the company of the highest truth', so it can be a gathering of people as that quote implies, or it can be your own meditation where 'I Am' is still in your midst!
I've found that the former (group gatherings in the name of truth) can be a precursor for the latter (direct association with the truth)

I've never sought friends & never will, the right people tend to come & go when necessary, I highly recommend this way, to be completely happy as yourself, some will say this is impossible & you need other people, which is true, but not to be happy, you need nothing to be happy, you need something to be sad about, and just by radiating happiness you will attract the right people at the right time, the greatest friends you will ever have

I'm not looking for Gurus, or masters or any such bs.

I am not looking for happiness, as I agree with you that happiness is within, here, now.

But other people and places can make this experience more interesting, more complex, and if there is the same as here I don't see any harm.

I also took the laid back approach for a long time, sort of floating letting people come and go as time passed, and I will still use aspects of this approach but also I want to become more proactive about the pursuance of the experience I choose. Which involves opening myself to new people places and ideas.

Most Satsangs are centered around a realized being but some can just be people coming to sit together in silence or reading/contemplating the teachings of dead Sages, most people tend to prefer Buddhas that died long long ago to living Buddhas for some reason, all the living guys that are teaching are all phony wannabe's out for your money but it's okay to read the tao te ching or ancient sutras, maybe because if they're dead they can't be making a profit off of you!
The same things were said about Buddha, Jesus or Lao Tzu in their days, but it's obviously not your thing...

I started going to yoga classes & hiking groups as I thought i'd meet more like minded people but I still find that the best friends you'll ever have just come by themselves with no conscious intention, i'd still be interested to see what other people say in this regard

Maybe just find groups on meetup or facebook that are interested in things you are or a local shroomery meet
