Any of you have to get wisdom teeth out in the past?
I have surgery coming up in about 2 weeks. The doctor told me I'd get 5mg valium, laughing gas, and Novocain so that sounds fun...

Have all four, will have them removed if necessary.
Most people don't need to have theirs removed, have fun with your arbitrary surgery.

Perhaps you will, I don't know your medical condition. I had a similar problem a few years back but the pressure eased up, they're fine and dandy now.

The pressure is not easing up for me, they're breaking my other teeth, I'm literally spitting out chunks of my teeth all the time.

I had four removed. They totally knocked me out, but sent me home with valium I couldn't use. It made feel like I was going to die. All I could do was lie on the couch with a bucket for the blood and cry in pain. Good luck, though

Went in and had 4 taken out. Woke up while he was working like this

He called for the secretary and nurses and they held me down and I went back to sleep. Shit was weird. I was high as a kite for a couple days.

Not 100% arbitrary, but thanks for the cynicism. And thanks everyone else for the helpful replies.
The doctor says my risk for infection is high because its hard to clean the flaps of gum over the incoming tooth due to the angle its coming into my gum.
More like preventative surgery.

Yeah I thought it would be ok to eat some trail mix a couple days after. A week or something later a sunflower seed popped out of the healing hole...

I got mine taken out 30 years ago when I was in the Navy. They only give you a local. No knockout fun. I'm glad it is over. I am afraid of dentists.

Just got one ripped out last Thursday. This was my second extraction this year.
The first was my upper left and went pretty smooth. 2 or 3 shots of novacaine to the jaw and gum and one big one right in the roof of the mouth. That sucked. 20 minutes later and I was done. Tooth out, pretty simple. Hurt for a few days and then just couldn't "spit, suck, or smoke" for a few more days after that. They game me motrin 800 for it. Doctor said she didn't prescribe narcotics for tooth extractions.
2nd Extraction- Last Thursday. I went in, and they hemmed and hawed at the Xrays, I knew they had to cut into the gum for it so I was sort of prepared. 5 shots to the gum and 1 to the roof of the mouth. 15 minutes later they started. They cut and jammed, pulled and pulled, held my head with one hand and the pliers in the other and I could hear my jawbone cracking and splitting but not yielding the tooth. At one point I heard her say "it's buried around the back of the jawbone, "if we take too much more he might risk losing the next molar up" There was profuse apologies and about an hour in more novacaine shots I believe 3 this time and 1 to the roof of my mouth. Around this point she (the doctor who doesn't prescribe narcotics out of priciple) notified me that she would be right back, she wanted to call in a bunch of prescriptions for me so they would be ready as soon as they were done with the extraction. Vicodin 7.5, Percocet 20, and a week of penicillin. 2 hours later they finally got it out. After calling in another doctor to help tug on the pliers. When it finally came out a huge burst of blood shot out with it and got all over their faces and my clothes. 5 stitches to close up the giant hole in my mouth and they sent me on my way with an icepack. Told me "congratulations, you are officially the hardest extraction I've done in over 10 years". Boy do I feel lucky.
Told me to stay in bed for a day or two and be sure to take all the prescriptions as soon as I got them. The swelling in my face really just went down yesterday. Felt like somebody took a sledgehammer to my face. All in all it was a good thing though, because the pressure and pain it was causing was almost as bad as how I felt the last few days and the pain is getting less and less, so that's a good thing.
So yeah, I had one excellent experience taking one out and one nightmare experience. I hope yours goes better than my last...

Had mine out this year. I ended up with dry socket, the most excruciating pain ive had with my teeth thats for sure.
Not once did I end up taking any pain meds, I dont think they even gave me any to begin with

I had an abcess not too long ago because of them. I'd rather keep them though.
If I do end up getting surgery and the doctors here won't prescribe me any opiate what should I do?
i'm contemplating just extreme rage at the moment but that won't impress a doctor -_-

I'm scheduled to have all 4 removed at the end of January.
The bottom left is almost out and shouldn't be a problem. The top two aren't even out, so come to think of it, i'm not even sure what they're going to do with those ones. The bottom right one is totally impacted, so that might be a bit of trouble.

Non-existant in Belgium other then OTC codeine and dihydrocodeine for coughs or ethylmorphine buuuttt I just want DHC or a very low potency opiate.
If a doctor even names an NSAID it pisses me off so hard... It helps nothing at all but I feel so embarassed asking about opiates because I know what they're about so they know I know anndddd bam you're dubbed a junkie.

The upper two I had taken out were both impacted. They started giving me really bad headaches and muscle aches all over my head from being so tense with pain all the time. It was pretty shitty. It's better to get them out before they get impacted and become much harder to remove.

Silkroad2 is up and running, there's been some more arrests on the admin level unfortunately but the market will hold as long as there's money to be made and drugs to be bought. What a horrifying reality, that I could wind up just another casualty of the puritanical crusade against pleasure...
Anyways good luck getting your meds if surgery becomes necessary

This happened to me during some minor oral surgery *spoiler- kinda gross* Ripped my lip from the gum, so I could pull my lip down over my chin, exposing my jawbone. Wish I could say I was out of it for a few days, but I walked out with a Darvon script Though it still did help me sleep.

This, but my bottom wisdom teeth. Only thing that's annoying is when food gets stuck back there, that's it. It was off-and-on painful for a few years while they were coming in, though.

Had all four of mine removed a few years ago, only one of them was actually grown above my gums but my teeth were already crowded as fuck. I opted not to get put to sleep so it was pretty interesting to watch. On the way back home I had trouble replacing the gauze so I had to swallow a thick mouthful of my own blood.
