Lost My Scalpel Handle, Tubs Ready to Harvest

Somehow managed to misplace my whole scalpel, blade attached, the night before a couple ounces were ready to harvest from the third flush of a 66-quart monotub. Ended up using a bare scalpel blade held by hand. What a bitch of a harvest lol; can't complain tho.
What would you have done? I don't have any small utility blades with a sort of clean edge. Grabbed your sharpest kitchen knife? I feel like it would be clunky with such a large blade unless you're totally choked up on it

twist and pull all of mine, they kind or round off closed at the bottoms, i prefer this, it keeps the hollow stem cleaner for cloning

Find a string or a thread, wrap it around the base of the stem once and then pull the ends tight....

I have a ton of x-acto knives and a bunch of pocketknives, so I probably would have used one of those. Without having that selection, I'd have gone with something small from the knife block in my kitchen and taken the sharpening steel to it before going to work.

I've yet to try this and forgot about it being suggested to me. Look forward to trying this and doing from now on if it works well
