First Time Growing!

I'm a newbie here, I followed the PF-Tek using BRF and vermiculite. The strain I'm using is B+, did everything as clean as possible.
Here are my babies so far, they are still incubating.

What do you guys think? The time lapse is 14 days since incubation. Can't wait for my babies to go to my fruiting chamber. I'll keep you updated.

These look Great, but the large containers will take longer to fully consolidate than smaller ones, so be patient, being "patient" is the key word in this hobby.
You are on the right path, Welcome

We're 1st growing at the same time! Dec. 9th and G.Teachers for me. It's been seven years since I've done this. Wait until you see your very first cap. Magical moment, like Christmas day at 7.

Hello guys!
Been a week after my last picture, got the new ones. Threw a baby away since it got contaminated, green mold. The other 3 are looking strong as they are almost full growth in mycellium. I'll let them sit another week before birthing them.
Timelapse by now has been 3 weeks since inoculation.
Here are the pictures.
Contaminated baby:

The other 3 sweet mycellium:

I would love to hear from you all. TY for the support.

I wouldn't think there's any need to bottom water, fill it with water dump it out a day later and you should be fine

Hey guys!
Out of teh 3 that were left, 2 dried out, had no idea that heating mats suck.
Ended up with only 1 cake left. Just not sure if it got contam or if its ok. Placed some pics on comtam forum and only 1 answer saying its bruising. I believe it is since it has gotten worse, probably for over touching the cake. My bad.
Anyway, here it is in its terrarium all by itself. I'm inoculating 5 1/2 pint cambodian babies later tonight.
Enjoy and pls comment .

You used a heating mat, like a reptile heating pad? What type of heating pad you used. Although I haven't tried it yet, I have always thought a reptile heating pad would work wonders. I wouldn't think at a heat source like a heating pad would dry things out

Cakes will bruise blue if they are dehydrated. You might want to dunk that cake again for 24 hours.

Update:
Changed the bubbler to perlite.
Perlite is bringing my RH up to 85%, how can I raise it more? Aquarium has 2 air pumps for FAE. Temperature by now is close to 20° C which is something like 68°-70°F.
It's ok with the temperature, read they will fruit to this with no problem, just takes longer and I'm okay with it. But what to do with the RH? How can I raise it to 95%-100%? Should I place the bubbler inside once again?

Ditch the aquarium and air pumps.....
Building a proper SGFC will raise your humidity.

I should have made a SGFC... probably for the next time .
In the meantime, I'll remove one of the two airpumps and see if that makes it.
I have 1.8 inches of perlite in a 10g aquarium. And just placed a heat mat to see if that makes the trick.
Also, can the temperature change the evaporation rate of water in perlite? Making my RH lower?

the rh in your chamber just controls how fast your sub loses moisture, the evaporation from your sub gives you 100%humidity on the surface, worse case scenario you have to mist/fan more often

the condensation caused bt the heating pad may lower your rh

Aquariums and heating pads are both fail......

Indeed,
1.8 inches of perlite in a 10g aquarium and you're not going to have RH, let alone FAE(PPM CO2 < 600-1000), I'm guessing you don't have a 6500k light either?

Sure....just drill 1/4"(6mm) holes every 2" in a grid pattern on all 6 sides, then fill it with 4-5" of moist perlite.

Totes are kinda expensive here . I payed 10$ for the aquarium.
Normal sterilite totes are running for something close to 25$.

I'm having a relatively consistent 75°F inside the aquarium
The two air pumps are always working and pumping air.
Fanning and misting closely to 5 times a day.
My hygrometer was calibrated and I'm having 96 RH. Way better.
I dunked and rolled the cake and was placed inside the aquarium, haven't noticed anything else rather than the verm layer being kinda absorbed by the mycellium.
Just waiting to see the pins .
Here is a picture:

TY everyone for your support.

Hey guys! Been something like 4 days since my second dunk and here is the picture.
It hasn't started pinning, not sure why.
Im doing the poor mans pod. 2.5 inches of wet perlite and2 fisktank aquariums, besides I mist and fan 3 times a day aprox.
My RH is always at the 95% mark and temperature is close to 23-25°C.
Anything I can do? Or someone knows whats going on?

Changed my set up a bit, since I wasn't getting any results.
- Changed perlite to geolite, 3 inches geolite and 2 inches water. - Added the aluminum base to my cake. - Added another air pump and another air wand as the pmp tek specifies. - Added an aquarium heater since my city started to get cold, best I could manage is getting a steady 21ºC. - Added a light source, getting it 12/12 cycle.
It has been for a full day in it and what I was able to see was a lot, a lot of knots forming.
What do you guys think? Here is a picture of the new set up.
Also, should I keep fanning and misting? In case of a yes, how often?
